Here is my picks for who to watch in 2003:

Currents (For Combacks)
Kevin Harvick (for his comeback), Dale Jr, Elliott Sadler, Jeff Gordon, Bobby Labonte, and maybe even Robbie Gordon (don't like him but have to admit he is much better than he was in 2001).

Rookies:
Greg Biffle (My pick for 2003 ROY), Jamie McMurry. - This should be as good as the Johnson, Newman feud this year!

I'm going to watch all of them........even the occassional entries!:D

Hard on the gas.....Jimmie Johnson, Rusty Wallace, Jeff Gordon, Dale Jarrett, Dale Jr, Greg Biffle and Tony Stewart (if he doesnt leave NASCAR)

Riding on fumes....Jeff Burton (again), Matt Kenseth and Jamie MacMurray (growing pains)

Did we remember to fuel the car at all....Jeremy Mayfield, Kenny Wallace, Larry Foyt (in his limited # of starts)

My vote for growing pains will be the Rusty/Newman camp for going to Dodge (all new setups) and to a lesser degree the Stewart/LaBonte camp for the Chevy. Although that change is smaller.

Dave Blaney,And Roush will get that cup with Mark.:) And Mat Kenseth finishing 2nd.And everybody will say. There is no competition in 2003.;)

There is no competition in NASCAR.......everyone knows the races are fixed.:( This is WRF.........World Federation of Racing.:)

comebacks of 2003: rusty wallce, jeff burton, junior, RCR & ricky rudd.

fallbacks of 2003: matt kenseth & jimmie johnson.

mediums of 2003(i.e.bill elliott, sterlin marlin ect): jeffy gordon, kurt busch & jamie mcmurray.

if tony and his team mate can win a championship in pontiac then why move to chevy?

I love this forum too.........but what are the set forth reasons?

To learn about racing? To chat with internet friends? To see who has the best avatar? To give your fingers excercise by typing silly things on a keyboard? To see who can come up the most orginal thread? Or because we have no life?:D

My guess.........ALL OF THE ABOVE!!:jumping:

My fearless predictions:

Champoinship - Matt Kenseth

Closest challengers, in no particular order - Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Ryan Newman

Improvers - Johnny Benson, Bobby Labonte, Kevin Harvick, Elliott Sadler, Ward Burton I hope

Decliners - Sterling Marlin, Mark Martin, Jimmie Johnson, Rusty Wallace, Bill Elliott, Ricky Rudd

Bout the same - Dale Jarrett, Junior, Jeff Burton, sadly Terry Labonte, Petty Enterprises, Bobby Hamilton, Robby Gordon, Ricky Craven

ROTY - Greg Biffle

Next First Time Winner - Greg Biffle, followed by Jeff Green

First Driver Fired - whoever is in AJ's car, unless that's his son. Then it's Andretti.

Number of drivers in the BAM car - 0

Plate races won by DEI - 2

Daytona 500 winner - Depends on who wins the rules tweaking war. To go with each make: Benson (Pontiac), Stewart (Chevy), Marlin (Dodge), or Martin (Ford).

Times I will gripe about Jaws once Fox gets back - 4,907,634

My predictions based on TN setup...

Champoinship - Ryan Newman

Closest challengers, in no particular order - Greg Biffle, Tony Stewart, Matt Kenseth, Kurt Busch

Improvers - Ward Burton, Petty Enterprises, RCR, Dave Blaney, Kenny Wallace

Decliners - Bill Elliott, Ricky Rudd falls like a rock, Dale Jarrett, Rusty Wallace

Bout the same - Ricky Craven, DEI, Marlin

ROTY - Greg Biffle

Next First Time Winner - Greg Biffle, followed by Jeff Green (agree)

First Driver Fired - Jeff Burton will not get fired, but will leave. He will get tired of Roush Racing and sign with Chip Ganassi Racing

Daytona 500 winner - Depends on who wins the rules tweaking war. To go with each make: Benson (Pontiac), Harvick (Chevy), Newman (Dodge), or Kenseth (Ford).

Times I will gripe about Jaws once Fox gets back - twice what TN said:p

The points race next year will be an interesting one my prediction for champion is Matt Kenseth, followed by Greg Biffle in second.

I think the Childress teams will bounce back, Richard Childress already said changes are in the works. However, Harvick will be the only one in the top 10 in points.

Rookie of the year is going to be interesting too, Biffle Vs. Mcmurray.

My guess is none of you are right becuase about 90% of the time when people make predictions, it dont happen. (no offence intended) :p :p

Chevy has more support than pontiac, but evidently it doesn't matter to much. Im sorry I don't care how good you are you cant win if you equipment isn't just as good or better then most at the track. You dont win 3 races and almost got the points locked up for you to win a cup in a crappy car.I don't care what anyone says.

Well, we will soon find out the truth about the DEI plate contraversy. New Monte Carlo for 2003, so it's a new ball game. If Jr. and Mikey dominate again, teams will line up to measure that hole!:p

Watch out for that Mike Harmon next year, he might make a race next year.

Okay, so maybe I'm being a bit sarcastic.

If Dave Blaney and everyone else stays at Jasper I think he could be one to get into the top 10 next year.

Champoinship - jeff gordon

Closest challengers, in no particular order -kurt busch, tony stewart, sterling marlin, mark martin
Improvers - Johnny Benson, Kevin Harvick, Elliott Sadler, robby gordon

Decliners - Jimmie Johnson, Rusty Wallace, Bill Elliott, Ricky Rudd, ryan newman

Bout the same - Dale Jarrett, Junior, Jeff Burton, Petty Enterprises

ROTY - Kevin Grubb (YIPPEE)

Next First Time Winner - dave blaney

First Driver Fired - mike Harmon

Number of drivers in the BAM car - 5

Plate races won by DEI - 2

Daytona 500 winner - Dale jarrett

tony stewart, dale jr., kevin harvick, sterling marlin, matt kenseth. top 5

regressers; mark martin, both rookies, jeff gordon & rusty

Watch for a Harvick comeback! A top10 points finish!

Champ - Ryan Newman.

Harvick would have to do a lot of improving to reach the top 10, but if Roush teams can do it I guess RCR teams can.

In light of this years flawed "standard template", I don't know. We've got the phoney claim of a standard template, but everybody has a "special" nose and tail template set. Don't think that matters? What hit the air first?...and what let's go?...what a load.

I think Johnson wil be a strong force to be recokoned with in 2003.

I saw this poll on NASCAR.com and kind of had to laugh
when I saw Jeff Gordon listed. He was # 2 in earnings. Won 3 races which I believed he was tied for 3rd with 2-3 other drivers.# 4 in points. Was this really a bad year for Jefff? I DONT THINK SO

I'd like to see Johnny Benson continue to improve and get some more wins. I also think Biffle will be strong. Let's hope that Johnson and Newman don't get the dreaded sophomore slump. And of course, Jeffy will be number one next year.

Petty is going to need alot of luck next year to win some races. I'm sure everybody would love to see him win a race. Going back to 2 teams this year I think will help alot.

well, some qualified drivers might help along with $pending some ca$h

I'm sure hiring that indy or cart driver isn't going to help that team much.

lets just waych out for the rookie class of 2002 and kevin harvick. thery will dominate the top 5 spots in 2003;)

Greg Biffle for sure will do well. Harvick will do better but I'm not expecting a championship run out of him. McMurray...well...I don't think he is the great driver everybody makes him out to be. We will know more next year when he uses his own setups.

Christian will de good in nascar if you ask me He will race about 5 races next year and some in busch But if he wasnot wrecked in his first race this year he would of gotten a decent finish
