Dumb move award goes to Junior for wrecking Mark Martin.

Receipient of the "bad luck" crown, Tony Stewart.

Best performance in turning things around, Earnhardt.

Most consistant performance, Steve Park.

Most disappointing performance, John Andretti.

Surprise performance, Todd Bodine. Eighth place finish and no wrecks.

And how about Jamie McMurray?? Good run but continued to fight too long.

Questions:

"WHAT IF" Spencer hadn't cut Biffle's tire. Possible top ten for Biffle??

What does the future hold for Jack Sprague ??? Jack who ???

A little emotion and disgust from Matt Kenseth during the post-race interview. Matt was not a happy camper but even so, did manage a decent finish. His comments are a definite sign he is beginning to feel the building pressure and the big question, is he up for it ?? Half-way through the season and the noose tightens. TA DA !!!!!!!

For those who did not watch the CNN interview with Bill Lester last night, he commented on the cereal box photo and while interviewed, offered a clear explanation of who and what Bill Lester is about.
Bill Lester is humble, a class act and gentleman. He is successful in his own right outside racing.
His personal goal, to make it into Winston Cup. I think he will. Someone will give him a ride. He is an excellent spokesperson and the sale of Honey Nut Cheerios will rise ^^^^^^^^^. :D

It appeared to me by watching the replay that Michael Waltrip wrecked Mark Martin not Jr.

Jr was on the inside and almost past Martin when contact was made...Mark's car was damaged on the front Jr's in the left rear.....has all the marking(and i watched the replay several times) of mark trying to cut down and not knowing Jr was there....my question is this?....so wouldn't you say mark's spotter deserves this award???....or Mark??......a racer has an opening and goes for it and almost makes it and is a dumb move...i just dont see it....unless its just that ole earnhardt thing.... ;)

IF.................................
Junior hadn't made the bonehead move that placed Martin in Waltrip's path ................................................

Watch the tape, Earnhardt took Martin's line and it is pretty obvious how Martin wound up by making an evasive maneuver to get out of Earnhardt's way. Earnhardt was the cause and Waltrip the affect.

And the move was not the fault of Mark's spotter. I have also watched the tape, Earnnhardt came up, Mark backed off, Michael hit Mark because Martin pulled into his path to avoid the bonehead move by Junior. And there are those who say Gordon is "aggressive"???
The Earnhardt thing ?? What is that ?? Do you mean when Earnhardt screws up it is okey and if someone else screws up there is hell to pay ??
Check again, but this poster, "Ole Whizzer", does not play the "favorite driver" game. I calls them the way I sees 'em and it makes no never mind who it is.

Mikey cant be to blame, he was already there when mark came up in front of him....it was one of them racing deals(unless you name is earnhardt or drive for DEI.... ;) :D .....

I did watch the tape.....like i said in my post.....so we'll remain on different sides of the fence on this one... B)

I think Jr. got a little loose and may have got into Martin, I dont think it was intentional. Caused Martin to check up and then Waltrip bit him. From what I've been watching, I hate it for Martin, he had a pretty good car for Pocono.

Isn't that what racing and making a pass is all about? Taking someone's line away and going around them.

It's like a news report I saw once. You have 10 people watch an event. And you will have 10 differant opinions. Just a fact of life. :D

It is obvious differences of opinion by some are biased in favor of the opinion makers favorite driver.
My point and position is, it makes no difference who the driver or team is, if I think they screw up or deserve atta boys, I say so. I might be right and I might be wrong, either way, I take no credit if right but will note it on-line for all to see, if incorrect. All I try to do is offer an impartial observation as an opinion. Nothing less and certainly nothing more.

In the situation with Earnhardt / Martin, I saw the move one way and someone else saw it another. Does it mean I was wrong? Or right? It was what I hoped would be interpreted as an impartial observation.

As to the retort on the Earnhardt comment, it originated with an earlier post, something about "unless your name is Earnhardt or you drive for DEI" and wishing Paul were still here. I wonder, what was the original posters reference there anyway???

So there you have it, the incident as I saw it. An over-aggressive driver creating circumstances that caused a wreck. Other items covered were in response to other posts on this topic. Please feel free to respond whether you agree or disagree. Oh ,and before I forget, the idea of taking another drivers line away is racing. When there is no contact. :D

Whizzer, this time you are wrong. Everyone knows that Lil'E can never do anything wrong or even part way controversial. He is the epitome of racing. He is the greatest racer that ever squatted over a pot. King Richard is shaking in his boots knowing that Lil'E is coming after his records. Why even when Lil'E spins out all by himself there must have been something wrong with the track. Or that mean ol' Jiffy musta thrown oil in front of him. Cause everyone know he don't spin out on his own. ;)

*******wiping pepsi off of monitor***********
barelypure, That was too funny! ROTFLMAO

At the time, junior looked pretty stupid by movin martin into mikey's path. In hindsight, it was a pretty smart move. It allowed Mikey's crew to fix the car better than it was before, and that caution allowed them set up their fuel strategy. Neither Mikey or junior would have gotten top 5's if it weren't for their fuel strategy..

A. I'm not biased...if i think "my" driver screwed up I'll say so...its only racing, not life or death if they are only right all the time....

2.refering to Paul, he would got the underlying meaning and had a good retort for it......becuase i dont buy into the.."earnhardt can do no wrong"....or the.."you just hate Jr" thing....

C. I could see the arguement if there was contact from say the rear corner panel or even the door, but Jr was almost all the way by him before any contact was made...so to me a "driver" saw an opening and went for it...nothing more...

and 4. after rethinking the incident I have come to this conclusion....Mark was trying to help out Matt by taking out Jr since mark is not in the title hunt, then saw the chance to make it a DEI double, but just wasn't aggressive enuff......now how's that for a theory...a roush driver taking out another roush drivers compitition?...

finally..some one who gets it!!... ;)

this post really made me laugh...thank you!!!...

It was pretty clear to me that Dale Jr wrecked Mark. Another nominee for the stupid move award would have to be Robby Gordon for wrecking Mayfield.
