I think it will be an eventfull speedweeks, who do you guys think will be the big surprise performer?

I think Sterling is gonna pick up where he left off.And Mark will get his first cup in 2003.Sterling will finish second.Hopes, and dreams maybe.Should be a lot of fun in 2003 for sure.:)

I'll be surprised if a DEI car doesn't top the speed charts.

Yeh i think Sterling will do well also....probably top 5 finish and "Old Bill" will have something up his sleeve for the young guys too. But i think Benson or possibly Bush will pull off the win.

Kevin Harvick will be the top dawg during Speedweeks... him and Dale Jr will be surprising..

TERRY LABONTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is about time!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a lot of respect for Terry,I just can't say the same about his boss.I would enjoy Terry having a good year, and putting a few rookies in the real world of stock car racing.;)

I think Johnny is going to pull of the sleeper win. And Kyle will be fast in every practice during the race practice. My second pick to win the 500 is Mikey. he has won everytime FOX has been at Daytona ans its Fox's turn again.

i would be happy to see ole Johnny do good, (behind Terry of course) :D :D i do like Johnny for a sleeper win too!!!!!!!!

If ya haven't noticed, Kyle is ALWAYS fast at Daytona..

Not always!!! He has been slow the past few years during practice but race time he seems to be pretty fast

Benson is my sleeper pick. He tears him some plate tracks up when he doesn't get wrecked.

Look for Ward to run decent again, I think. I agree with whoever it was that said that Awesome Bill may have a little something for them too.

As to a true surprise pick to shock some folks (and there usually is one) I'll go with Dave Blaney. Sad part is, those surprises usually meet with bad luck during the actual race.

Man it is great to see so many rooting for Benson! just in case some of you are looking for a venue to discuss Benson/MBV-II/Valvoline racing there is a good spot that I use to keep up with news and opinions. They are having a Benson fans vs. Dale Jr fans friendly competition right now and I hope it breathes new life since the "official" Benson site leaves a lot to be desired.

Johnny fans hangout

This is not intended to direct anyone to a new forum allegiance, I am just offering a new spot for news and info for those that like to surf as much as I do! :)

Rusty Wallace will be the biggest surprise.....And win his first restrictor plate race.......

Hmm I like that Rusty pick...could definetly be a sleeper!

I think one of the surprises will be how bad jeff gordon is gonna be. I just got a feelin. Also Elliot Sadler might pull off an upset.

Sorry dirtymo, I think you're wrong and only thinking with your heart. One day, "The Kid" will end up with more titles than ole Ironhead. Sorry pal. :)

I think he will finally get to prove how good a driver he is the whole year long, not just Daytona. A few wins and a pretty high points position should be expected from that team.

Now about Jeff Gordon doing bad...I wish...but probably won't happen. I think he will set the next record of championships that everybody for many years to come will be trying and failing to reach.

Sad as that is for me to say mustang........I think you're right.:D

I see Jeffy winning at least 10..... as long as he stays healthy. Championships not races....lol:p

I never said he was bad, i think he will have more titles. Heck he will probably win it this year. All I said was that he was going to do bad during speedweeks.

Sorry about that. My mistake. Take note of this date cause I very seldom make a mistake! :) I guess I hear so many people who are #3 fans slam Jeffy so much that it's like they really talk with their hearts and not their heads. I hear this all the time and I just jumped to a conclusion when I saw your prediction. You very well could be right. I hate trying to make short time predictions cause I'm seldom right and as I said at the first part of this post, I'm seldom wrong, so I just stay away from those short term pics. Now when it comes to long term pics, I will do that! :) (they are harder to disprove!) :D

I think we will have another first time Daytona 500 winner. Same with the 125's and the Bud Shootout.

Dale Jr leading alot of laps, with Tear'em up Tony following !
But watch out for that #2 car, Ol Rusty may do real well this year.............new ride and all.

Go Red-Man...............190mph!
:beerchug:

I think a rookie might end up getting the pole like last year, or at least the 2nd spot.

I think Ken Schrader might actually make the field, and that will be a major surprise.

Yeah but McMurray has qualified for a few WC races already. This will be Mears first WC race.

Yes, it would be his first WC race.........but, if he doesn't race into the show in the 125's then he has provisionals that may get him in anyway

BTW..........that would be thanks to Jimmy.:D

AND Ganassi too! :)

Yeah.........but I can discount that since it doesn't fit my argument!! :ROFLMFAO:

Schrader possibly making the 500 is no surprise that team needed the right man for the job. If they can make it and do fairly well it will be huge for them, secure possibly more sponsorship and $$$....we all know that all teams welcome that.

If Kenny can pound some sense into the owner and make them quit acting like WC is a hobby, then that team just may take off.:)
