Well we are halfway thru the C4C. Have you changed your mind? Do you still think your original choice will win? Wha'cha think...

ill still put my money on martin. I've just got a feeling he's going to do really well these last few weeks. Jr and Busch really havnt had trouble yet and Gordon never really finishes season well.

At the beginning of the chase I thought that Kenseth would win it all but I have changed my pick to Jeff Gordon. I believe that he is the most talented of the top 3 and has the experience.

I am sticking with my original choice of Jeff Gordon, when the money is out on the table he always figures out a way to get up front.

I'm sticking with Jeff Gordon, but Kurt Busch and that #97 team is doing an awesome job thus far and seems to Me that They're not getting the recognition They deserve thus far. ;)

I haven't changed my mind. :) Jr has the determination this year and the team is working like it's never worked before!! Busch and Gordon have been a little up and down in their performances.......though they are still very much a threat to Jr.

Jeffy Poo is gonna eat them up and spit them out on his way to 5. :D

Oh, dear, BirdMan!!!!! I do hope so!!!!!

And I too, must stay with Jeff Gordon!!!!! Haven't changed my mind.

I had to go with Jeff. Busch and Earnhardt hasn't had any real bad luck since chace started. Sadler and Martin. Maybe but dout it. After that forget it.

:XXROFL: Y'all guys are gonna feel real silly when Jr takes it all!!

I like Jeff's chances as well. He made it through the crap shoot that is Talladega and is only 74 points back. He has dominated Martinsville lately and has a few other good tracks left for him.

Martinsville, Atlanta, Phoenix, Darlington and Homestead. 74 points is a lot to overcomes but I believe it has come down to a 3 person race. 4th on back may improve their position but I don't think enough to take 1st. With that I believe Jeff can get it done. Busch has a good chance. Lil'E, I can only hope DNFs the final 5...

Counting Gordon out is never a smart move - in my book anyway.

It'll be interesting to see how the #8, #97 TEAMS respond when there's some real pressure put on 'em.

I'm still very curious to see what roll team mates will play in the final outcome. We've already seen Martin give Busch 5 points, Waltrip/Wallace state that they were racing for Earnhardt and it's long been a fact that Gordon has very few friends on the track.

Of course Stewart or Kenseth could make a run and win it all. ;)

Yepperz, Jeffie and Wonder Ears just maybe the ones to beat..........but it's all about Dale Red-Man Jr this year!
Go Team Budweiser!

As much as I dislike ol' Kurt, this C4C deal is making me a Kurt fan. Funny how he's leading the points yet the media attention is still based solely on Dale Jr. If Kurt wins it strikes a devastating blow to NASCAR.

:whoopee: :yawner:

I don't know about devastating but I don't think it was a contingency NASCAR planned for. Then again they could just ignore him like they did Matt and move on to hyping the drivers for next year.

Matt winning was the devastating blow NASCAR couldn't absorb. They didn't plan on him winning the way he did and they felt compelled to do something, anything, to bring "excitement" back to the track. So they brought us this nightmare they called the C4C.

Kurt winning could be "justice" after all...

Who did they plan on winning it?

fergy, fergy, use the entire quote
winning the way he did
Matt winning the way he did was like a wet blanket had been tossed on the entire sport as thousands of channels were changed to the NFL and NASCAR lost viewership. They are attempting to keep those viewers tuned in until the end. As for Busch, can he keep the viewers interested? I'm sure most are tuned in to see if Lil'E can take over the top spot. If they are convinced he can't, oops, they're gone. Also, for the 5-600 fans Gordon has. If this had not been the C4C and Busch, or some other not so popular driver, was running away with the points where he had nearly clinched how many people would still be watching? Its about viewers, who equate to advertising dollars. Remember, always follow the money.

Looks like Kurt Busch may win this one. Not my choice, I'd rather see Jr win. Jeff Gordon is still a threat. Good luck to all! B)

Dunno, but we all know who they damn sure DON'T want winning it...

I refrained from voting my favorite, Sadler, although I think he'll make the top 3 when the dust settles.

I voted Kurt. He's hell on a short track, he can hold his own at the 1.5 milers, and he ain't bad on a flat track. Darlington will be his weakest race.

I think it's between Kurt and Jeff Gordon. Sadler, Junior and Mark will fight it out for third.

I haven't kept track but I heard that under the old point system Jeff would have a very small lead. Anybody have those numbers...

Here's the top 10 in the "old system"....

1 Gordon 4328
2 Earnhardt Jr. 4327
-1
3 Busch 4139
-189
4 Johnson 4120
-208
5 Stewart 4021
-307
6 Sadler 3984
-344
7 Kenseth 3942
-386
8 McMurray 3736
-450
9 Martin 3654
-466
10 Jarrett 3804
-524

Tony Stewart is a little worried about the recent resurfacing at Martinsville. He thinks that there is a possibility that it will result in one groove with little chance of passing. Jeff Gordon stated that he wished that they would have waited until after the season to resurface. Both drivers realize though that they will know more after they all run a few laps on the track. It does make for suspense though as none know how the track will race.

Could somebody please post WHO would've won under all the point systems Nascar has used. old, older, oldest, precambriam, prekenseth...all of 'em.

Since when has Stewart worried about getting around people on a short track?

I wonder...does Stewart understand that it's fair for everyone?

I don't mean to ask you personally...just using your quote :)
