Vickers first pick, Smith second.

The problem with Kurt Busch is he's going to have another meltdown and guys like that can bring entire teams down if you can't control them. And Kurt can't be controlled. Dude belongs in a mental institution.

1.Smith
2.Vickers
3.Hornish
4. Busch

A shame Kurt is the most talented. But on my payroll? No way

Without a doubt Kurt Busch. Big deal he has a bad mouth and no patience for reporters that want to start trouble or make him wait 10 minutes in the Miami heat for an interview.:) Smith would be my second choice.

#4- Kurt Busch, He has driving talent but Cup racing is now a Team Sport and he can't be relied on to play well with others or to work well for a potential sponsor.
#3- Sam Hornish, He's been in Nationwide for awhile and ran some Cup races but I just don't see IT in him, the guy just has no credibility.
#2- Brian Vickers, boy has Talent has Experiance I still have some concerns about his health issues and his marketability. Having said that I'm betting he'll have a fulltime ride somewhere soon.
#1- Regan Smith, Talented, he's ran very well with an underfunded satellite team. Solid head and a good attitude he's ready for a step up. Probably the biggest thing is I've seen when he has a Good Car he's not afraid to stick it in their and run with the Big Boys, he also has their respect.

Now someone find a few Hundred Million and I'll put this deal together!

I'll be surprised if there isn't an owner out there who has confidence in his own ability to control Kurt's out bursts. I would not be surprised if there aren't any sponsors with balls enough to try.

He's had a ride in three different big league teams and left. If not for his brother he's be wheeling a hot dog cart.

Kurt Busch, while not winning any personality contests, is BY FAR the best driver on this poll.
Wrong era for Kurt . He would have been great back in the day , but nowadays everybody needs to be politically correct.

I think that there's a difference between politically correct and holding your tongue - something KuBu has never been able to balance. He's had multiple shots with top teams and managed to torpedo every one of them but if you've got secured sponsers with deep pockets, he may be your man. He will get you media attention.

Vickers is not even close to having the talent to back up his ego and proved that last year, IMO.

Smith has had a rocky road his entire career and is a close 2nd for me.

Hornish, who is not without his owns faults, would be my pick out of the 4 options.

I look past Kurt's adolescent attitude and see a man that has thrown his crews under the bus just about every time something bad has happened. Who would want to crew for him knowing how they will get treated? Something has changed with Kurt. The year he won the cup trophy, he had a wheel fall and he maintained his composure. I have seen him go postal time after time and he always thinks all that is needed is an apology.

He is very talented but he is experiencing the terrible twos.

if starting a team then Kurt Busch. he can turn a 30th place car to a 20th place car.

if i am an established team owner filling a ride or starting another team then i chose Hornish.

i chose Hornish over Vickers because Vickers had a fair shot and i feel Sam hasnt been given a fair shot. Vickers was brought through the stock car ranks with the BEST team in the business. Sam was brought from open wheel straight to Cup with very little stock car experience. he was put in a third penske car when Penske was a struggling team as a whole. he was expected to perform and be competitive. i think he has soon that he can be a good driver when given a chance to learn the right way and get comfortable with the car and team. he is 4th in NNS and is a weekly front runner. His last 6 cup races he has finished 5th, 12th, 34th, 11th, 11th, and 11th yet he still get crap from fans.

Tough call between Vickers and Smith for me. Both are skilled and very underrated in my view. I just couldn't put up with Kurts crap if I were his boss. Hornish just wouldn't be my guy.

Back in the day they would have beaten some manners into him. But it would have been better for him, with a lot less hot mics. Lots of scattered thoughts about back in the day and the required patience, traveling wasn't as luxurious, crude cars, no power steering, fewer tools etc... It probably is an easier life today, and who knows Kurt could flipped out easily in those days too.

Kinda like Dale Sr. teaching Rusty how to act. Bush would never be a choice for me. I'd pick Regan Smith.
