O.K. kids, Just for fun...

Your starting a brand new Nextel Cup Team and you need to hire a Crew Chief, you got all the money you need to spend..who would you hire and why?
Who would you never even consider talking to?

i would probably hire ryan newman.... engineering, talent and a fresh look at these things.

for crew chief???

Ryan has too mach talent as a driver to be a crew chief but he would certainly be a good pick to be a driver of choice.

Crew chief, ummmmm, being a good crew chief will not work unless there is a combination of understnading and chemistry with the driver. Larry McReynolds was a good crew chief but when combined with Dale Earnhardt there was no chemistry.

Tony Eury mignt not be a fit for Robbie Gordon or Robbie Loomis for Tony Stewart yet they work well with the respective drivers they are currently working with.

I wonder if Ray Evernham would be as successful with Jeff Gordon as they were before???

I'd flip a coin between Robby Reiser and Chad Knaus. I think they are the two smartest men on pit road right now. Matt Borland wouldn't be far behind them though.

Well if possible I would try to get Evernham, if not I would try Chad Knaus. Frankie Stoddard seems pretty knowledgeable too.

I agree. I would Make every effort possible to lure in Evernham, If Evernham wouldn't make himself available then I would try and Lure Chad Knaus, I think right know he's showing alot of skills that Evernham showed with Jeff Gordon.

I'd pick Reiser, because he can control his driver well...and he could probably whoop a few butts if needed...aside from Pocono, I mean, he can control his driver well aside from Pocono.

Those would by my choices, too. But, I'd have to go with Chad Knaus first, then Matt Borland and Robby Reiser.

kirk shelmerdine would probably be my main pick, followed (closely) by paul andrews, gary nelson, andy petree, jeff hammond, matt borland, and jimmy makar.

I know thats right.

One crew chief out there that I would like to see get a chance with a big team would be Booty Barker.

I think the team that bootie's with now might end up heading to cup after awhile...they seem to be stepping it up really well.

Everham would be my choice hands down, with all his experience, engineering ability, and knack for finding talent there wouldn't be a close second. Larry Mack would be the guy i would not choose, only because he seems to have a know it all attitude most of the time, which tends not to bold well for the chemistry angle.

I think Bill Elliott would make a good CC. Especially for a younger driver.

Totally agree. Jason and Bottie and really geling well together.

Chad Knaus would be My 1st choice, seems to have great communication skills with Jimmie Johnson and usually sets the acr up right, and can adjust it better when needed.

In crazy, upside down, backwards world - Kenny Wallace...how much fun would that be?

In the real world - Johnny Benson.

I couldn't agree more (and in the order you quoted)

Can I pick M. Schumacher to drive the Ford?

And Everham to be the operations chief?

Now I need to decide on what jet to get around in B)
