Foghat. I didn't think they were 'too bad'. Heard lots worse. They were trying for the Hendrix version ... but noone does it like Hendrix did.

Holy crap, I did not know that and I loved them. I always thought of them as part of the "southern rock" group. Please don't tell me that Black Oak Arkansas is an Aussie bunch. Shows how much I paid attention back in the day. Must have been too much Randy Lajoie in me.

Buck, I thought the same thing when I learned the were British about 5 years ago. Holy Crap!! And like you, I've loved them since the late 70s.

They did about as well as a blues/boogie band could be expected to do with that song. To be fair, I believe that they were probably the pre-race entertainment and doubled as anthem singers.
