Here in Henderson, Nevada (right next to Las Vegas) It's pretty much home to a lot of people, so I'll also count people from Las Vegas as well, heres the list:

Kurt Busch - Driver of the #97 Rubbermaid Ford

Al Unser Jr. - Indy Racing League Driver

Randall Cunningham - Legendary NFL Quarterback, formerly with the Philadelphia Eagles

Andre Agassi - One of the greatest Tennis players around

Paul Tracy - CART Driver and Runner up in the 2002 IRL Indianapolis 500

Tasha Schweikert - U.S Olympic Gymnast

Wayne Newton - Big Big Casino Owner, basically owns Las Vegas. Great Singer too.

Susan Hawk - Competed in the First ever "Survivor"

Brendan Gaughan - NASCAR Craftsman Truck Driver

The Rat Pack - The Rat Pack consisting of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Peter Lawford, Dean Martin and Joey Bishop

The Blue Man Group - Guys painted in Blue who dont make sounds while performing crazy stuff

Siegfried & Roy - Quite possibly two of the Gayest men alive !

Well, somewhat big on racing here in Southern Nevada and gambling of course, well, isnt that what all drivers do on the track? Who's famous where you're from

just of hand from Peoria IL... Jim Thome and Joe Giardri, Steve Nagel(100th astronaut in space) and thats about it, heh.
 
He's canadian arright but he lived here for a short while
 
Paul Stoddart grew up in the very same area as me, Australia-Victoria-Melbourne-Pascoe Vale! Mark Webber is from Williamstown, which is on the beach so on the other side of the city to me.

Sydney has more of the actors like Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe, Mel Gibson.

Two basketball players went to the same high school I did - Randy Smith played 10 years in the NBA long before I ever went there (we had a big picture of him in the gym) and David Russell, who was there when I was, went to St. John's when Big East basketball was good and was drafted by the Knicks, I believe, but blew his knee out in training camp.

The biggest name few people here even know he is from here...Bill Russell was born here, but I don't think he tells anyone. :p We have many football and a few baseball players from here. We also have one or two singers Tim McGraw and Andy Griggs. Nate we also have a NASA astronot, he will be going back up next April if NASA is up and running by then.

Well hailing from the Great state of NY we have our Senator Clinton, wait she's not from New York so I guess she can't count...

Upstate NY(North of Syracuse) isn't full of many famous folks, I'm from a tiny tiny town so no one has made it big from Parish, but:

the 1990 Miss New York was from Williamstown NY, about 5 miles from my house

Andy Graves is from Mexico NY, about 7 miles from my house

Joey Sindelar, a PGA golfer is from Utica about 2 hourse from my house

David Letterman went to Ball State which is the big attraction to Munice
 
Being that I am from Los Angeles I think I would take up way too much room to list them here on this thread....there are a lot...however, not too many race car drivers from Los Angeles...traffic is too tight to go fast. :lol:
