Just when I think I'm out, they pull me back in.

It seems like every year I get sucked into watching the Spurs in the playoffs, against my better judgement. I just really can't stand the Spurs. The overrated Gregg Popovich and all the whining is just really hard to take. Plus, they always seem to get the benefit of some really opportunisticly placed bad calls. Last year was great watching the Thunder knock them out of the playoffs. I really like Durant and that whole team, so it was especially sweet. However, I end up disgusted a lot more often than not when I watch the Spurs play.

I've been a huge Stephen Curry fan since he took my beloved Davidson College on a magical run to the Elite 8 in the NCAA tourney a few years. He's been nothing short of spectacular so far in these playoffs. He was incredibly hot in the third and some of the fourth quarters last night. They had like a 16 point lead with about 4 minutes left. The Spurs got hot, the Warriors got cold and the officiating got a little goofy and the next thing you know we have overtime, and then double overtime and then I'm sitting there with a bad feeling in my stomach like I've just been duped again. I'll still watch the next game though, just because it would be so sweet to see the Warriors beat them. And probably because I am kind of a slow learner.

If the finals come down to Miami vs. San Antonio, I'm not sure I'll continue watching.
That said, I don't think Memphis would have anything for Miami.

San Antonio would be a better matchup, but the Spurs just don't excite me either.
I was hoping the high flying Clippers would go far but they just stunk it up when it counted.

I don't even want to talk about my PHX Suns.
Pathetic.

I think Memphis has a decent shot to take out the Heat. The Heat's weakness is definitely inside and the Grizzlies combination of Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph are better than most, if not all other, NBA center/power forward combos. I'm with you, though, on a Spurs/Heat final. I think I'd rather watch amish porn than that. I might end up watching it anyway as my son is a huge Lebron fan.
