Either go back to the old system where the champion is the driver who scores the most points over 36 races. Or, since so many fans put a premium on winning, why not declare the champion based soley on who wins the most races. Only 1 point awarded each week, that going to the winner. This would cause teams the fix wrecked races cars now to just park them in the future as they would have no chance to win the race. As far as prize money, I suggest paying a different amount down to 20th place, everyone else below that gets the same amount, again making fixing a wrecked car not worth the time. And as far as after the last race, if a tie exists between 1 or more drivers, they come back the next Sunday to Homestead for a 100 lap shoot out for the championship. Using this year as an example, going into the race tomorrow, Edwards and Stewart are the only drivers who can win using the chase formula. Using my suggestion, 6 drivers would still be in the Hunt. Stewart, Kyle Busch, and Harvick have 4 wins. Jeff Gordon, Kenseth, and Keseloski have 3. Seems like a better scenario for TV viewing with 6 still in the hunt instead of 2. And the best reason for this system is this; each and every week all drives are going all out for the win. No more just riding around for points. What does everyone else think? thanks
