Hill sure got hit with a severe penalty but is it fair?
Let's rewind, first Almirola purposely tagged Hill making him lose traction
and thus could have caused a big accident. Lucky for Almirola, Hill was able to save his car from having huge contact with the wall and maybe wrecking other drivers.
Hill did exactly what Almirola did to him and yet because Almirola hit the wall and he cried like a baby to Nascar and the Public he gets away with it.
In my opinion Nascar has to come down hard on anyone who moves another driver purposely. Almerola's move was no different than Hill's and really was more dangerous than Hill's retaliation. I say this because it is what started the whole problem.
It is this mentality that causes every restart to end up in another caution.
Personally I think Nascar wants these incidents and that is why we have double file restarts which actually is a punishment to race leaders.

I'm a bit of a Hill fan so it hurt when I saw
his choice of retaliation. It seemed rather obvious
he made a bad choice that borderlines a need
to address some sort of anger mgt issue. The
right rear quarter on counter clockwise ovals is
really a do not touch zone no matter the circumstance.

Austin Hill pulled a Chase Elliott, and people are trying to defend him. That's wild.
Please Hill was way worse then Chase, and honestly Chase's is the weakest of the suspensions.

Because he's "Big Country". Some like names like Big Country and NASCAR. You know, the came from nothin', made it on his own, ain't takin' no **** types.

Not even remotely the same lol. One is getting a guy loose. The other is sending a guy into the wall with a right rear at a high rate of speed. If you can't understand that, then that's just on you.

I remember lots of members defended Kenseth for being the same kind of Jerk Hill is so the opinions of this form are taken with a grain of salt as to who is doing the talking.

Says the guy who wants to take rubbing out of NASCAR. Being team Penske you may prefer indycar racing.

I didn't see the race but saw a replay of the incident and am going with my natural default neutral response from my sig. Guys made moves that they were comfortable with. We'll see what happens, if anything, moving forward.

Was any of it, and particularly the retaliation, necessary? No, not in my opinion, especially considering that both guys' days just ended up being ruined when they could easily have raced on from there, gotten good finishes, and discussed it after the race. That said, as someone who isn't behind the wheel, I would argue that such contact is never really necessary per se, but it obviously happens nonetheless.

I'm fine with Hill's penalty, which right is in line with what happened to Chase and Bubba when they did similar things.

Kenseth should of gotten far worse than what he got for what he did. But people hate Joey so they will act like it was ok.

Somewhat in my man's defense, he waited for a short track, long regarded as the appropriate venue for retaliation. He'd been damaged beyond being competitive earlier in the race by Logano's teammate, Kez. And in the bigger picture, Matt no longer had any playoff implications to consider.

Unlike Hill's hotheaded reaction, Kenseth's was about as cold-blooded a retaliation as there ever was. Whether that makes it better or worse is up for debate. With that said, NASCAR was completely correct to sit him for two weeks.
