Why is Minardi testing Bell? I dunno much about him other than he was sporadically quick in CART and then dumped by his team. Whats happened to Herta's chances at Minardi? I think he's a better choice than Bell

From what I heard, Herta was helping them this week at Monza. They're just testing with a bunch of different drivers.

Because he's a young American hot shoe...and struggling F1 teams like Minardi will put just about anyone in the car that can bring some US dollars with them.

They also might be trying to get more Americans in to the series and also watch the races. More Americans would probally watch F1 if they had an American driver to root for.

The question is, would americans follow F1 just to watch an american run around at the rear of the field in a Minardi? I don't think so. Remember the Andretti years?
