back east must have some of you on edge. Any personal accounts of the tornados???

Alaska, check out the "Might be back" thread.

It was EVIL here last nite, but not as bad as TN, AL, KY, OH.

There was one about 15 minutes from here in Hartford City. That was the closest one but it was pretty ugly here as well.

My parents are about five miles from Carbon Hill, Al. The tornado came within a half mile from my house back home.

Right now, I think the count is nine dead in the area. All my family are accounted for, but I have a really bad feeling about the names of the people who were killed.

I just thank God my family and no one else was killed.

I understand. I suffered many a letdown as a kid in the 50's while living in New England. We'd be told a hurricane was coming but rarely did we experience the full force of it. Storms are still very exciting to some of us but seeing the destruction from last night gives us reason to ponder. We might be disapointed today but devastated tomorrow.

Luckily I live in an area that rarely gets tornado's and when we do they are usually smaller.
I am so glad I don't live in tornado alley, and wish only the best for those devasted by these storms.
