Will Brad get a reputation? :)

I'm sitting here watching the Nationwide race and Brad Keselowski just hit Jason Leffler for the umpteenth time and caused a big wreck with 17 laps to go in the Nationwide race. I'm sure he's not making many friends at the moment. He just caused Jeff Burton to have a hard wack. Whoops! Will Brad be the new Kyle? heh heh

Oh, and I hope Carl wins and not Kyle. I want to see a backflip instead of that bow. :D

That was great camera work on the last incident. We were right in the middle of the wreck from the 38's in car camera when it happened! :D

Didn't he cause the last caution, too? Sheeesh! Oh I've never really heard much about his reputation. Just thought he was "golden" since he was Junior's boy. ;)

Still no backflip!! I'd like to see that to have a new image of Carl. :D

Can you explain that to me? LOL Do you mean "we" as in "we the audience?" When I first read it I'm thinking, "Hmmm.. how is he posting here if he's at the track?" heh heh Hey, it's been a long day, and well, I'm a bit loopy. Too bad it's only from being tired. LOL

I dont think Jr. really cares for him that much.

What makes you say that? I've only heard him say good things about him, but maybe that's when he is driving for him? (Fixed that... I was confused because I was thinking about him driving for someone else in the cup series. I was thinking it was wrong as I posted it as past tense. ;) )

He still drives for him, but thats neither here nor there. I cant seem to find it but I distinctly recall Jr. talking about Keselowski's attitude and immaturity at some point.

When he first come to North Carolina he lived with Jr for awhile. I think they are firends.

I'm giving Brad a pass on this one, Leffler is usually on the giving end of those type of incidents (he dumped Reut on more than one occasion in NW the past 2 years). Now if he continues to dump others and on the bigger tracks that's an entirely different story.

I think JR was calling him out when he talked about his attitude (kind of reminded me of when Theresa called him out, but I digress) and it apparently worked. JR ran to VL and was more animated than I've seen him in years I'm thinking he likes the kid.:D

A tad off topic, but something I have been wondering. With Jr. likely not taking Jr Motorsports to the Sprint Cup anytime soon, and Hendrick not being able to have the 5th car next year(since Keselowski wont be a rookie any longer and Mark Martin possibly expanding that planned part-time schedule next year because of his success so far this year), is there a chance that Keselowski runs a full schedule with Phoenix Racing in 2010? He would likely be able to take that GoDaddy sponsorship along with him(and possibly the United States Navy as well, who backed him in the 2008 Nationwide series, for a few races).

That is a real good question. What I am wondering is just how much longer Junior is going to sit back and play 4th fiddle in the Hendricks stable. He must know that he never will be the #1 or #2 driver in that stable as long as Gordon and Johnson are around. I don't know if Junior will settle for being 3rd or 4th best for a long time, and that is exactly what is staring him in the face at Hendricks. Junior may fool you and take Jr Motorsports to the next level quicker than you may think. I'm sure it has to do with money, and how much he has to dump on his team, or wants to dump on his team.

I think Jr. Motorsports is at as high a level as it's ever gonna get...

And theres nothing wrong with being a very good Nationwide team. Chances are it will stay at that high level too since it will get Hendrick's best developmental drivers, Jr. himself, and other Hendrick affiliated Cup drivers.

I can't see any reason why Jr wouldn't keep Brad in NNW for at least one more year. Things are starting to gel, he might very well be a contender for the championship if not this year, definitly next.

He could do both. He is running 17 races so far this year(7 in the #25, 10 in the #09...and IMO could also pick up one of the races in the #34 that Andretti will miss), while running a full time Nationwide schedule.

Keselowski didnt have a good reputation to begin with.

I'm sure you're not used to hearing this, so I'll say it. I agree with you.

Don't let it get to your ego though.

Keselowski's always been dirty.

Spike I just don't think GoDaddy or the Navy sponsor Brad K, it is JR they're paying for. Honestly have you seen Brad in a commercial JR wan't in?

They sponsor his Hendrick ride when it runs, and if he was racing for Phoenix full-time it would just be an extension of the Hendrick team, so I dont see why it would make a difference.

Yes they do but as I asked before, have you seen and ad for either that only Brad is in? Next question, do you think JR will continue doing those ads if the money is going to Pheonix racing?

The difference is right now the money is going through JR motorsports and JR has a large stake in that.
The Busch team is JR Motorsports in conjunction with Hendrick so the money goes to the same pool so to speak.

The only GoDaddy commercials I have seen either have Candice Michelle or that hiedous troll***** Danica Patrick in them. I understand that, what I am arguing is that if Keselowski becomes the full-time driver in the #09 that $$ will still be mixed in with Jr and Hendrick since it will be an extension of Hendrick.

OK

All I can say is there is a huge difference but If you don't see it I sure don't know to explain it. :beerbang:

I dont see how it would be different at all, your right. It would essentially be a 5th Hendrick team.

Actually, I think it would be the seventh Henrick team. :D

Thats an excellent point. 8th actually, IIRC they have a hand in Furniture Row's team too.

This is how they are going to get around the 4 car per owner rule. They will simply merge with other owners, like Roush did with Yates. No secret here. As far as Brad getting a reputation, you have to be successful to get a reputation, and winning one race and not even running in half of the others will not cut it.

Bobby Labonte is in a Yates offshoot as well(completely funded by Yates IIRC, which I find ironic with them having to shut down one of their actual teams).

Some other scenarios I was thinking were: Keselowski driving the #78, adding another car to the Stewart Haas team, or even Hendrick funding Bob Keselowski's team(K Automotive Racing or something? I think) to go to the Sprint Cup. Still think the #09 is the most likely though.

I don't think the 09 wants to go full time, they seem to pick and choose what races they want to go to. Most of them being high exposure races, ones that will garner them more of a chance of TV time. Of course winning at Dega might of completely change their business model.:D

That is the same thing my brother has been saying.
