He has one win there and he is really in need of a win at the moment

keep your hopes up if Micheal Waltrip could win 2 races in a year then JR sure as hell can come back and win

I hope you are right :( I'd love to see the 88 back in Victory Lane but at this point I doubt he could even win an Arca race

Don't forget he won that race at dayton in the 3 in the nationwide series last year he still has it I personally think he should be racing for Stewart HAAS or RCR cuz Hendrick focuses most of his attention to the 48 they are the only hendrick team that you can count on being up top on a weekly basis

if he went to RCR he might can stand a chance as Richard would make sure Jr had a great car. But meh I don't know I just really wish he'd get another win :( sucked not seeing that 88 in Victory Lane since 2008

well Richmond is coming up in 2 weeks and he has 6 wins there throught the Nationwide and Cup Series he has a good shot there probably his best besides Daytona or Talladega

Here is to hoping then cause hell I'm gonna rock my Jr stuff no matter what but it be good to be able to go rock it with him as a winner again.

I was a Micheal Waltrip I retired from having a Favorite when he retired. I am happy to see underdogs win and alway happy to see JR win. I been rooting for Ambrose lately he is on a hot streak at the moment

Simply put to answer the question...NO

That team has work to do if they plan to win this season let alone the next race.

I think Jr should teeam up with Danica and start the richest team in Cup history. Then, hire everyone in sight, including Eury Sr, and have some fun racing again.

He could call it Earnhardt-Hussy racing...or maybe something else.

I can't believe Nascar is accepting 7th place drivers in the Sprint Cup Series now. Seriously every time I turn to the INDY race she is in 7th place never fails. I wish I could be model my way to stardom

I honestly believe he needs to leave Hendrick in order to win. He needs to go to RCR. Now, Now, hear me out. I am not saying that because that is where his dad raced. I don't even want him to race the 3. To me RCR is the best place for him to be himself. To be the same driver he was when he was winning in the 8. I think he tries to live up to the talent/success of the HMS guys. He needs to go to a more humble team that can build around him, instead of building him around the cars/team.

Only other team I could see him being that way other than RCR is MWR. However, he will never drive a Toyota, and his fans would all die from that scene as well.

Well everyone thought he was a sellout when he went to HMS. Kinda hard to see a Earnhardt race for the same team as Jeff Gordon. Im sure they would all survive

Hate to Burst your bubble butt Earnhardt Jr hasn't had a Top 10 at Atlanta in the past 4 Years! He could really use one now, good news is he normaly runs well at Richmond oh wait .....uh thats right he hasn't had a Top 10 there in the past 4 years either......Sorry.

I sense a junior hater

Try to keep in mind that for every fan who adore him and think he's God, there's probably two or more who don't. It doesn't mean they hate the guy but rather they're simply not a fan.

As for him winning again, he probably will at some point but I don't see how leaving the best equipment in Nascar for RCR's stuff is going to help.

Bill Elliot went six years from 1995-2000 without winning and then won 4 more races so I suppose there's hope for Earnhardt as well.

My personal opinion is that he needs to grow up, be a man, stop letting other people (his sister) run his life and go win some races as no drivers are going to give it to him...he needs to take it.

Amen, hallelujah! I agree wholeheartedly.

What kills me about this is people seem to forget that Junior hadn't won in the 8 in nearly 2 YEARS when he came to Hendrick. As a matter of fact, Junior had one pretty good year in the 8 being in 2004...after that he has won three races, that is 3 years in the 8 and 4 in the 88. I hate the whole "Junior needs to leave Hendrick" arguement. People were also saying "Junior needs to leave Teresa" way back when as well....bottom line is I don't think the problems is the teams!

I have never quite understood the whole thing about Earnhardt/Gordon. Yes Jeff and Dale were on track rivals, but outside of the track they were actually good friends and business partners....fans tend to build "rivalries" where they don't really exist.

Honestly, I just don't think Jr. has it in him. I mean he didn't have to fight and claw his way to the top tier of stock car racing like his daddy did. The doors opened for him because his name was Earnhardt.

I think if Jr. had to earn his way to the top, then he would be more hungry for a win, but the hunger for a win.....just isn't there. He doesn't like a loose car, and he doesn't fight his way to the front of the pack, he's just content with being mediocre.

Excellant point. The whole "wonder boy" thing and everything else was just to get fans attention and it sure did.

i don't think jr will win this year in cup and possibly never again. the one constant in being a jr fan is that he consistently fails to deliver. i think his next contract with hendrick will be his last as a driver.

You could be right, and I think if it is Jr's last contract, it will be a big hit to the sport. Regardless of his performance he is one of NASCAR's top draws.

I would like to see Jr win again. And think he will...he just has to have a good race, and a little racing luck wouldn't hurt either.:)

IMO, a win by Joonyer would be great for NASCAR. It would be the lead story on Sports Center and Wind Tunnel.

But in this day of over-paid athletes we see it time and time again. A noteworthy professional signs a huge contract ($30 million / year for Dale) and then fails to live up to that contract.

Joonyer has gotten soft. He doesn't have to win in order to put food on the table. He has far too many distractions and if he is ever going to be a consistent winner, he needs to give up the commercials, let someone else run JRMotorsports, close down Whiskey River, move away from his billion-dollar estate and start working out in the gym and on the test track. He has, arguably, the strongest organization in NASCAR behind him (HMS) and if he can't win there, he can't win anywhere...

That is a great way to put it! On a side note, as an avid pro wreslting fan, it blows my mind how many people think that it is real! So I guess the Gordon/Earnhardt thing shouldn't be that surprising! lol

As a fan of Jr I hate to say it but to me it just seems like the drive is no longer there. He's just out there riding around every weekend, I just don't get it. Maybe he should just hand the wheel over & go into the pitbox of his own Jr Motorsports operation & start a Cup team there with a different driver.

Sadly enough I think he will have a new friend with him cruising next year (Danica) she has yet to impress me she just drives and doesn't really push the issue or anything Id be bored as hell if I was her. I have hardly ever seen her make an aggressive move on the track

39 points ahead of 11th. He'll more than likely make the Chase without a problem. What can he possibly do once he does make it? That's a different story. He most certainly wouldn't be a threat to win it all.

One of the talkin heads said Dale Jr had a SOLID top 20 Sunday.

NASCAR will accept anyone who can pay for the license and pay the entry fee.

Junyer's had some good runs this season. I think the fact that he had several sure thing wins slip away from him this season broke his morale.
