What do y'all think? Will Jimmie Johnson make history by winning four titles in a row or not. It's early and he's on a role, but so is Tony Stewart.

There are probably about 5 drivers that have a good chance this year. So, even though Johnson has a good chance I cannot single him out. or Tony for that matter.

I think he will come close but I think Stewart is going to be tough to beat now that he has the lead.

But Tony doesn't have the lead, at this point, when the chase begins..

Muggle, me thinks you need to hit the rack. It's getting late for an oldie like yourself. Your not thinking too good right now. A good night's sleep will help you get things in order.

Stewart hasn't been ranked number one this early in the race season, well, ever. Watch out boys and girls. Watch Smoke and the rocket man make history.

Tony loves the slick tracks.

:beerbang:

I think he will

He always seems to turn it on and dominate, so I dont see this year as being any different

Too much competition this year, even with Rousch cars being down. The 5, 14, 24, and 18 will all be there. I say don't count Edwards out, too early.
With Smoke running this strong this early in the season, I predict the Old Spice chevy to stink it up in the chase.(MAN I HOPE I AM RIGHT).

I think so. The difference between Jimmie and the other guys is Chad Knaus. Jimmie can win a race in a bad racecar. And let's be honest, Jimmie races much better in the postseason than he does in the first 26 races.

when it comes down to the chase, until they change the tracks, Jimmy is gonna be hard to beat......... if he is anywhere near the top, look out.
Now having said that........... GO MARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

the odds say no. just like the last 2 years for a repeat. <g> betters odds are he's got 4peat and fourpeat copyrighted.

Where are all the Rick Hendrick haters? And, conspiracy theorists? I figured someone would say that Rick would pull the plug on Stewart-Haas if 1 of his guys can take Championship.

OOHHHH, did not think about that one...

although i'm not a JJ fan, I am a fan of chevrolet in NASCAR, i think the guys very capable of getting it done. in past years he has run about where he is at this point & then come on strong at the end. i think he can do it. it'll be a record that will not be broken, it takes alot of savy driving to win two titles back to back but 3 straight was impossible till Cale Yarborough & look how long it took to equal that. four straight Cups will not be broken if it happens this year. if not, the man is one of only two to win 3 in a row since NASCAR's inception back in the late 40's...

maybe i've had a few too many...but...

If the Chase started today.who would be the driver with the most points?

1. Tony Stewart(1853)
2. Jeff Gordon(1807)
3. Jimmie Johnson(1789)
4. Kurt Busch(1762)
5. Ryan Newman(1680)
6. Kyle Busch(1634)
7. Denny Hamlin(1630)
8. Matt Kenseth(1625)
9. Greg Biffle(1618)
10. Jeff Burton(1587)
11. Carl Edwards(1582)
12. Mark Martin(1567)

So, that would make it difficult for kyle to win the Championship since he would be 219 points behind Tony and only 10 races to overcome the deficit.

when the points get reset for the last 10 races and he wouldn't be 219 points behind.

Bingo, you almost got it. At this point in the season it is kyle that would be in the lead for the Chase, not Tony. kyle has 3 wins and it would put him 30 points ahead of Tony.

Muggle you need to change your meds. This whole thread is about whether or not Jimmie Johnson can make history. I'm sorry to see that you are trying to turn it into a Kyle Busch thread.

That is pure BS, not surprising though. Since when the hell can a member only mention the driver that you choose.

Some have posted saying they think Tony will win.

Some have posted that 24 will win.
I am saying I think Kyle has a good chance because of his points lead when in the chase.

Did you forget buck, that the current leader means nothing when the chase begins.....it appears so.

Calm down Muggle, don't get your panties in a wad. Look at the title of the thread. You can talk about anyone you want, but I was just asking the forum members if they thought that Jimmie Johnson would win four in a row. If you like, you can ask them if they think that Kyle will win his first, I don't care. If you do, I won't change the subject though. :p

Oh, I don't even care who the current points leader is because there is still lots of racing left before the Chase.

Perhaps you didn't 'understand" my post.

Let me make it as simple as I can where you may understand it.

No, I don't think that Jimmie will win it this year, I believe that Kyle has a better chance. Now, if you think that my comment is changing this into a Kyle thread, so be it.

Kyle had the best chance last year and blew it......
