What do you all think? Can Jeff win it against the odds of DEI and most of all Jr? Will cans be thrown again if Jeff wins, and if so should anything be done to those fans that are caught throwing debris on the track?

Yes he can

Will he maybe

If someone the fans like better in 2nd they will pitch stuff over the catchfence

As much as I would like to see it, I doubt it. If he does, can will probably be thrown, but not as many as at Dega.

As for the throwies, they should be forced to watch the entire F1 season in review.

I wouldn't call them fans if they throw trash over the fence.

I think that it will be some one that has never won at Daytona like Mark Martin. Would be nice to see the old guy win, gives us old guys over 40 an ego boost. :D :D :D As for the throwing of cans and such over the fence, it will be pretty hard to stop that, but if they do catch some people they should revoke their tickets for next year.

It's a tough decision. Seeing how the DEI cars have a big advantage on the restrictor plate tracks, and how Jeff Gordon's team has been doing really good lately, I think he could win.

As much as I would LOVE to see Jeff win, I think no, and someone from DEI will probably win.

No comment.I will not jinx it,no matter what happens. ;)
Still celebrating His 50th career pole. :D

Will Jeff win? The safe bet is "no"..........there are 42 other drivers out there wanting that position at the checkered flag.

Can he win? Another safe bet is "yes".......and again the same reason as above. :) Daytona is one of two tracks that NASCAR races on that starting position makes not a darned bit of difference on where you finish........refreshing isn't it? :) It's also one of two tracks that NASCAR races on that track position with 5 to go makes not a darned bit of difference either!! :) And that is exciting!!

And y'all say plate tracks are boring!!

That's exactly why they're boring, except when the big one happens and We get to see a lot of torn sheet metal.
A driver can lose/gain like 12 spots on any one lap,too much blocking, don't go below the yellow line, unless Ur Dale Jr. and have priveliges. <_<

I wonder which is most boring,a plate race or a cookie cutter track?  Both suck IMHO. :p
Road courses and short tracks rock. :D

I don't see him winning at Daytona, but it could happen.

I likely won't see anyone win at Daytona because I can't stand to watch a plate "race" for more than a lap or two either.

I'm glad there are people out there who like to watch the plate exhibitions so the weekend isn't completely wasted for everybody.

As for me, I'm sure I can find something else to do this weekend than watch that crap shoot play out. <_<

That's only 8 races a year you enjoy! Six short tracks (2 each at Bristol, Martinsville, and Richmond) and two road courses (Infineon and Watkins Glen). That's only 22% of the races........I guess I'm glad I can have fun nearly 100% of the season (I'm taking one race out, though I can find something in enjoy about Infineon). :)

Of course he is going to win it. NA$CAR gave him a bigger plate.
