Lets face it, the 48 team has the point lead mainly because everything has been falling their way lately. Some examples:

1) Charolette. The #2 car was so dominate, both the 11 and 48 went to fuel strategy with 110 laps to go. Somehow, the race stayed green. Even with their mistake running out of fuel, one yellow would have changed everything.

2) Kansas. Everyone talks about the 48 teams miracle on pit road, but it involved a ton of luck. First, JJ is told to stay on the track and go to the garage. He can't gather it up in time, and rolls down pit road, where the call is changed to come to pit road and not lose a lap. The real miracle is nascar going 6 friggin' yellow laps on a 1.5 for a spin, and that's the luck the 48 needed to fix the car.

3) Martinsville. Yep, he got lucky when Hamlin blew a $20 switch, because there was no way JJ was going to beat the 11.

4) Texas. The #2 car had them beat not once, but twice. JJ got lots of help from Greg Biffle, who was the main cause of 2 of the 3 cautions. JJ needed 3 cautions to get the job done, and that's exactly what he got. A 4th could have put Kyle in the winners circle, but the racing Gods once again decided to give JJ what he needed.

I say it ends today and the #2 gets it's share of luck to win this thing. If that fails to happen, there's always Juan....

I hope things work out for you for your own peace of mind. :) Do you get any sleep at all?

Personally I don't think the #48 are as lucky as they are good. These guys all make their own luck for the most part. I either want to see the both of them have issues today that drop them back to Bowyer and Kahne range or go 'nads out' until the checkered at Homestead.

Not to burst your bubble FB, but I see nothing in those four examples that suggests anything will change today;) Jimmie will do what he has too and I'm sure they'll do some pit strategy for track positions considering passing on the track may be hard today.

This kind of stuff makes me respect Johnson more. He is one of the all time greats, regardless of the foolish denials.
In chase events he has more wins than the next three competitors. Johnson has 22 of the 26 chase wins for Hendricks (to the best of my calculations).

Johnson has won the last two races, while Brad has needed stunt work to stay close. Brad didn't have Johnsons speed at Martinsville, so the naysayers suddenly need Juan Pablo Montoya to snark Johnson.

At Texas Brad couldn't effectively brake in the pits, and self inflicted himself to a plan b pit strategy. I wouldn't normally call it out, but it is necessary after the relentless attacks on Johnson that is obviously being used to pretend Brads better.

Get real people, the dude is lucky, but things are about to change. It doesn't take much talent to drive around at half throttle for 110 laps and pray it stays green. It doesn't take talent to have nascar decide you need an extra 4 laps to fix your messup. I bet HMS sold JGR those switches. I'll tell you something else, Kasey saw that JJ needed some help, so he ran into the wall. The former HMS driver Mark Martian decides JJ needed even more help to beat Brad, so he turns left and heads for the restroom while Rick writes him a nice check. Wasn't it another Chevy that helped JJ with the second caution? Friggin' Chevy owns NASCAR. Why else would France allow Chevy to install their guy Middlebrook in position to water down any cheating penalties HMS gets?

Wake up people. JJ isn't all that talented. He's just good enough to be the driver in position to take advantage of Rick and Chevy's evil plans. Starting now, Roger starts writing the bigger check to Brian, and JJ's average talent will become apparent. OK, if somebody takes all this sheet seriously, it's their own damn fault.

5 Championships - that's a lotta luck.

I really wanted to give him a "BURP" on the whole post but figured you sue me for copyright infridgement:cool:
Good thing the papers havent came in from the attorney on the damn tootin thing or you'd be in deep doodoo.

Fender's fault .

All JJ's fault there. I watched his in-car, and he got stuck in 8th behind a couple of cars for 15 laps. When he finally got clear, he was driving hard and blew the tire. I know he said he felt a vibration, but I never heard him say anything during the race. Meanwhile, Brad backed off Kyle and Denny more than once, saying he wanted to cool the bead.

But you predicted it using some sort of voodoo or somethin .

All I can say is Thanks Fender. Thanks for doing whatever the heck you did yesterday to produce that outcome.

Will Keselowski's luck run out at Homestead? Could get interesting ;)

Bowyer takes out Bad Brad in retaliation for talking bad about Jeff Gordon.

We have had "sliced toast."

Last year Smoke burned Cousin Carl.

This year, JJ is burnt toast. :D

I think Carl is the Burnt Toast. He got it last year from Tony, and then gets one upped by Brad. 2010, Carl had to think he was the greatest thing since sliced bread, now, he's burnt toast.

Do you guys seriously believe that Edwards wont ever be a cup contender again? Next time check those mushrooms before eating them ;)

I think that Edwards will come back next year and would make some predictions for the 'Bold Predictions Thread '. How about Edwards will finish higher than Kenseth (new team)..or Edwards will finish higher than Brad (new manufacturer)..or Edwards will finish higher than Gordon (starting to lose it) . There are lots of bold possibilities.

I personally don't think any of those predictions to be bold as any one of them could easilly happen. A few of the top drivers have missed the chase and one even went on to win his 3rd champioship.
