TRAVIS TRITT, ALLEN JACKSON, Toby Keith, Dixie Chicks, and MORE

I just LOVE COUNTRY

I'm from the southeast and my grandfather and uncles all played the guitar and sang whenever we all got together. (we're the epitome of redneck). I grew up listening to willie, waylon, hank, charlie daniesl, etc.... I don't exactly listen to 'em today, but I've got a soft spot in my heart for 'em. I did go see Charlie Daniels last weekend. Always wanted to see him and he was in the area. Figured I'd better go now cause surely he won't be able to perform for too muc longer!!

:)

Hi PenskeGirl, why are y'all still in PA?
I was surprised when Charlie came back so soon after that injury with the post hole digger thing.
I stayed up till almost 3am with Farm Aid, Willie's story, and the music on CMT.
Do you know what ever happened with John Anderson, Charlie Pride and others who were popular back in the '70s

I love country... but i can't get CMT and the only radio station is a crapy am station that only works during the day.. i just listen to my CDs now..

Zekk, that is all I had when I lived in the Northeast until 1994, but fell in love with country-western (as it was called then) back in my loooooooooooooong ago childhood after I got my first radio (am only). At night I could get a station from the Southeast. My country station in RI could only broadcast from sunrise to sunset even in the early '90s.

I ended up here because a former finace was from here and wanted to move back. I was in TX at the time and it was closer to home (SC). Things didn't work out and I was kinda stuck here financially. I'm actually looking to move back to SC. I'm currently trying to transfer but I don't think my mgr is going to be very helpful. He's not happy that I'm leaving. I'll just get a job with another Co that would transfer me down. I've already been looking and asking around. We'll see where that ends up. Funny you should ask about John Anderson..... I saw him this summer. A small town fire co here puts on concerts every weekend in July as a fund raiser. They actually get some pretty big names. Saw Doug Stone last yr. Joe Diffie was supposed to be here but got sick. Seeing John Aderson was quite enjoyable. He closed it out with Seminole Wind. As for the others that were popular back then.... Your guess is as good as mine.....Maybe CMT will start a "where are they now" series.

Willie is good, I like that song," mamas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys". Actually I like Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings.

I dont listen to his music really but I have relatives that listen to it. It doesn't bother me like some.

"Seminole Wind" is one of the greatest. But then again, I could go on and on and on and on.

What has 200 legs and twelve teeth?

The front row of a Willie Nelson concert.

Ever heard that one?

:bleh: Never was much on Willie. But he does support some good causes. Allen Jackson fan here.

I love Allen Jackson.. I think Drive is one of the best country CDs I've heard:D

David Allan Coe had a concert in a bar in a small town in SC about 10 yrs ago. Had a great time. He signed autographs afterwards. I didn't want to wait in line, but my friend got me an 8x10 autographed glossy!!! LOL, I think I've still got it somewhere.

Listen to most country music. Clint Black is just wonderful and yes, he has gorgeous eyes. I like Willie too and have a couple of his CD's. Strange, didn't listen to country until we moved to SC. Don't know what happened but now hubby and I both have our radios set on country music and added on to cable a couple of years ago to get the CMT.

I am soooooo jealous! He played a small club in Jersey a few years back, but I wasn't able to make it. He hasn't been that close again since. I'm always checking pollstar.com to see if he's playing where I happen to be, and it's never worked out. One day...

I have always heard that if you get the chance to see Willie live..do it. I guess he is just the best live. He canceled his concert here in KC a few weeks ago.
I enjoy a Willie tune now and then.
An eighties country guy you have not mentioned, that I love, is Dan Seals! I saw him two years ago and got him to sign a CD. He is one tall dude! I told him so too!!:p
