It took me 45 minutes to install, didnt have to use any drivers (rare for a non-OEM machine), and was watching OTA DTV through media center in under 15 minutes.

This rocks.

So far my wife and I have had no problems with windows 7 on the laptop, still have Vista on the PC.

i thought it installed fairly quickly on the machines i've installed it on. no problems with any of them except nieces pc with an ati radeon video card. installed fine with the video card but windows update has a critical update for it which blows away the video. only way to start win7 after the update was in safe mode. hopefully ati can get their driver issues straightened out soon. she also had to buy a new web cam. win7 doesn't like 4 year old third party hardware at all. <g> my barometer for problems (my wife) seems to like it pretty well except for finding games that will play on it. she's a game junkie, especially the hidden object type games. haven't booted up to it in about a month myself. perfectly happy playing with latest kubuntu.

I got Windows 7 as a Christmas gift, and I've loving it. I went from Vista to 7 on my PC, so the changes are all good ones. Runs much faster, and the upgrade was a breeze. Only issue was with the ATI drivers for my video card. I just needed to reinstall new ones after the update.

Everything else works like a champ. Very pleased with it. Probably the best OS Microsoft has ever made. Runs great on netbooks too!

After using vista for a year, and having experience with ME before that.... I have to agree (shock), Microsoft actually listened for once! Maybe this wil be like XP, and we can go 4 years without another OS to screw things up.

I'm still running XP SP3. :mope:

I'm really excited to see the new touch-screen PCs that are going to be running Windows 7. Now that there's an OS which was designed to support things like tablets, they might start to make a comeback.

CNN and HLN both use a huge touch-screen LCD running Windows 7 to show their weather maps. Seems to work pretty well.

I was impressed at Best Buy. The one here, all display models are unlocked with touchscreens of different sizes. DSo you can do as you please, they even have a few games loaded to test graphical performance.

Touchscreens are fun --- but I wouldn't want one. I don't like sitting close enough to the monitor to touch it. My monitor is at least 3 feet from me.
Your eyes are better than mine. I am thinking about getting a 21" or 23" monitor to replace my personal 17" monitor.

I have 'twin" 19" monitors for my work computer at home and it is wonderful working with 2 monitors.

Have any of you worked with the "TWIN" monitors. It is great working in both monitors and moving from one monitor to the other.

I'm still with XP, but the companion computer here is Vista. Muggle, I don't have two monitors, but have two computers with one monitor.

Last week, while doing some cleaning in my basement, I got out the old PC with Win 98 and hooked it up. Had a hard time getting an antivirus that would run with 98, but got it up and running. The only thing I will use that machine for is graphics, internet and email, so it works pretty good.

Got a 22" and 19" side by side here.

Also, i found 7s version of dreamscene tonight. Now, it goes so far as to let me use my 3,096 photos as a slideshow background, changing every 10 seconds
