First practice is underway.

Shown fastest is is Brett Bodine at 270.7 MPH, I have a feeling this is an error.

Oh, fabulous. Nothing I enjoy more than seeing both Michael Waltrip AND Steve Park faster than Dale Jr. in practice. So much for the 2/3 sweep.

Spots are moving around a lot now, practice is near over and the drivers are doing banzai runs in earnest.

If there is a track that Steve can have a break out at, this is it.

Well, as long as the 51 and 02 don't get in on time, the 71 will get at least the last prov.

Might not like em but by golly if it's the only way in.......

I just hope that Carl Long makes the field. He's been struggling lately.

Only 44 cars practiced, one goes home.

the 51 and 02 raked 42 and 43 in practice.

So that means the only way in for Carl is on time. If Carl makes it, Hermie goes home. Unless they both make it, then Tim goes home. Unless of course the car that didn't practice still takes a qualifying run, which leave Tim in the final spot if Carl and Hermie don't do the go fast thing.

Not sure but it sure does look like the 71 ain't looking for a qualifying run anyways, and the teams main concern may be just keeping the car off the wall. They banked on the prov at Bristol and it backfired. I just hope this roll of the dice pays off.

Well all the best to Carl but it don't look good for him.

And I like I said, I don't like the prov rules but as many as often as I've had to check them out, I've got em pretty well figured out.
