Tonight....Las Vegas Motor Speedway....Final race of the season with just 36 points seperating 1st and 2nd, and only 60 some back to third.

"Among the Winston West notables are two-time series champion and Las Vegas resident Brendan Gaughan (NCTS) as well as this year’s title contenders, Austin Cameron and Eric Norris.

Gaughan won last year’s event on the 1.5-mile superspeedway and already has posted two wins this season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Cameron, who replaced Gaughan in the NAPA Chevy, trails Norris by a mere 36 points as the drivers prepare for the season’s final race. Norris, the son of acting legend Chuck Norris, is poised for his first title."

I really like it better when they run this race on The Bullring but at least it's going to be a night race and for only 19 bucks it's kinda hard to go wrong.

End of the month brings Tony Stewart to race USAC Midgets at The Bullring and I'll be there low in turn one. Ya'll might want to join me.:D

well the lynch boy won whats up with that. he usally can't race his way out of a wet paper bag. He tried racing with the Northwest tour boy's at Twin Falls, Idaho and ended up wrecking. He's lucky brendan and austin and others had problems.

No kidding?

I gotta tell ya that I was fairly impressed at his shoot out of two like a rocket. The late brake entries to three that he had to do for 5 to 10 laps was pretty impressive too. Only saw him slide up bad in four once during this battle for the lead.

71 fan i shouldn't be so harsh on the guy as i wasn't at the race.Im dissapointed in the competion on the winston worst. the more talented guy's race on the southwest and northwest tour's.

they need to do something with this series i don't know what though. the only time they ever get a car count over 18 is when they race the big tracks. the winston worst should be the next step up for a driver but right now it's not. sorry for rambling on like this.

If i can work it out i'll be in vegas next year for the southwest tour race at the bullring. i've also read that tour won't be racing in vegas at all next year. If they race maybe we can meet for drinks or something.

Low in turn one if I can make it. Team Realtree 71 hat and a 50th Aniversery Checkered Flag jacket weather permitting. The Realtree hat is a dead give away tho. Generally two to four rows up close to the end.

lvlocalracingscene.com is kept fairly up to date but they got nothing past the end of Nov.

And yea, the field did seem kinda thin. I'll check for southwest tour stuff to see when the next race at the bullring is. They didn't run the Vegas Bullring this year. 3/8's is kinda small for a full field but it sure does pack the grandstands when the tourers show up.

And yea, it only took Brendon two years to build a team and car to take the trophy with so yer right, the competition probably ain't all that good. The way the kids are getting rides in the upper series so quickly, it's almost amazing the the tourers are still running at all. Oh well, there's always ASA.

well i will be at irwindale for the southwest tour races next year. i just love that track the banking is just right lots of passing up high and down low.
the southwest schedule should be out by the time they have their banquet.

Brendan is the real deal and a pretty cool guy. i did get to chat with him last year at Evergreen Speedway when he raced the Winston West.

Till next time See ya
Big m

Yup, Brendon is the real deal.

I remember one night here at the Bullring he got black flagged for something with just a few laps to go. No way to go to the back and get anywhere back near the front at all, so I guess he just said to heck with it and kept on going. Got up for the win but of course it didn't count.

Got out of his car at start/finish and started doing a victory dance. Beating Kurt Busch was a real big deal to him. But when he finally figured out that they were interviewing Kurt instead of him, he walked over to where they were, congradulated Kurt and got back in his car.

Didn't do a big torked off burn-out as he left the track or anything, just stuck his hand out the window and waved to the crowd as he drove away. It was a heck of a race too.
