Woods announcing driver for 2003; Could be the end to Rudd saga

The Wood Brothers have scheduled a press conference for 5 p.m. Tuesday to announce who will drive the No. 21 Motorcraft Ford in 2003.

The Woods have said they would not make an announcement until Ricky Rudd makes his plans for 2003 known. He has not done so as of yet despite negotiations with several teams including Chip Gannassi's.

It has been no secret that the Wood Brothers are interested in signing Rudd. After talks with Ganassi apparently fell through, the Woods found themselves back in the picture.

We will have coverage from the press conference as soon as it becomes available.
 
They're going to announce me as their new driver.:p ;) I hate to ruin the suspense for ya but there you have it.:satisfied

And Abooja, your gonna get the duty of heading up my fan club. There are about two members so your going to have your work cut out for ya.:D

Rudd to Announce Deal Today? Wood Brothers to make announcement: hearing there will be a news conference this afternoon at 5:00pm/et at the University Hilton (Charlotte) to announce Ricky Rudd's plans for next year. And that it does NOT involve Dodge or Chip Ganassi (by the way, heard Rudd was asking for over $3million and 50% of purse from Ganassi). Look for a full report on ESPN2's rpm2night at 6:30pm/et. AND just got this - Eddie and Len Wood of Wood Brothers Racing and Motorcraft have called a press conference to announce driver and sponsorship signings today at 5:00.(PR) ALSO FOX Sports Net's Totally NASCAR will have a full report at 6:00 local, 6:30pm/et on Speed Channel.(8-20-2002)

Why would Rudd ask for 50% of purse, he won't make anything that way :)

Or you could cook for the whole team, I KNOW you'd be good at that. We'd probably have to beat the other teams away with a torque wrench so they wouldn't get into your food.:)
 
B.C., you have hit upon the perfect job for me: Winston Cup caterer!!! Wonder how I could ever finagle something like that?!

This conversation has gone from the Wood Bros. and Ricky Rudd's future to my career? That's why I love this place! :D

And then you could invite me into the pits for a race and we could have lunch during the race. Ahhhh.......yes.....a lunch date at the track.:thumbsup: :beerchug:
 
If I'm not mistaken, B.C., the official NASCAR rulebook states that the caterer gets to date either the driver or the most handsome man on the team. Looks like I won't have time for a lunch date with a peon like you once I hit it big. HA HA HA (cough cough) HA HA!!!!

Just kidding, of course! :D
