Word has leaked to the staff at NBC &TNT not to expect to come back following the 2006 season.
Thank you & Good Riddance.

it was gonna happened anyway, but NASCAR was gonna stay until the 2007 season, one year short, whatever TNT and NBC suck altogether

Is it the "staff" or is it the network itself including the staff.

I've heard that ABC/ESPN would more than likely get the half that NBC has these days. I don't think that FOX is wanting to rid themselves of NASCAR just yet. I do believe that NBC is wanting to get back into broadcasting the NFL. If that happens, either CBS or FOX will have to lose their contract.

At present, NASCAR is hot, but the NFL is always hot and if any network had to make a choice, I'm sure that it would pick the NFL. But, there is only room for two networks to broadcast that game on Sundays, unless they choose to go another route. ABC has moved it's Monday Night Football to ESPN so in some may say that it's making a move to something else, i.e. NASCAR. I always liked ESPN's coverage of the sport but hated ABC's version. Also of late, the last couple of years or so, I've grown very tired of Benny Parson's sycophant attitude.

I hope this is the end of Benny Parsons announcing career. He is horrible, cant get his facts strait if his life depended on it.

lets just pray tha fox don't get it all, don't think i could stand DW for the whole season
Whoa...didn't think of that....well, maybe ESPN will get some...or how about this....WE the viewing public get to vote on the tv network and we also vote for who we want in the booth.......

Although I hate BP I like the setup now b/c I get NBC, FOX and TNT so I only miss a handful of races on FX. If ESPN gets in on this then I am not gonna be able to watch as many races.

NBC will be getting back into football...with ABC moving MNF to espn, the nfl has moved the espn sunday night game to NBC...now all the major networks have at least one game a week.

I read about this possibility a while back and applaud those who have taken a look at the available choices. NBC has foisted most races of to TNT, sometimes because of a movie or football. Benny had lost my attention during the first broadcast and has yet to learn how to pronounce Jamie McMurray's name, let alone do any intelligent "commontating". He is frequenty interrupted in mid sentence by the others for corrections, speaks when he shouldn't, etc.
DW maf be a buffoon sometimes, but he is a LOT more entertaining than Benny.
ESPN has a whole bunch of stations, outlets wordwide, experience and knowledge about the world of sports, the $$$$ to spend, etc.
Time will tell.

i thought it was Larry McReynolds that couldnt pronounce McMurray...he's the one that says Macmurray.

Yes, Larry puts the accent on the "mac" part of not only his name, but others as well, but Benny has pronounced Jamie's last name as McMary for a long time and has been called on it time and time again. I think that he's done somewhat of a better job than a year ago.

i hope that fox will start brodcasting nascar. because my house only gets 10 channels
