The final night of racing is live (well slightly delayed) tonight on Speed.

Unfortunately, this was the first year I couldn't make the trip down, which really kinda sucks. But on the plus side, this weekend is usually my last of the year, while this year I have at least one, maybe two more events to hit.

Last night, for the first time ever, they did a four-wide salute with fireworks. Yeah, yeah, they do that all the time, I know. But this year, it featured all three divisions on the track at once.

Tim Fuller (modifieds) Jimmy Owens (late model) and Sammy Swindell (sprint cars) were last night's feature winners.

What a great show on TV tonight. Took me back to the good 'ole ESPN and TNN days.

Glad Donny Shatz is ok. Could've been a bad one.

As great of a racer Sammy Swindell is (and without a doubt, he's one of the best ever to buckle into a sprint car), he whines just as much as the Busch brothers.

Nice to see a local guy win the late model race. Owens has became one of the best late model racers.
