Just watched the race. It was a little more exciting than most Atlanta NW races, especially the restarts.

The move Justin pulled on Sorenson was plain dirty. He said he was trying to 'shoot the gap', but there was NO gap. So he drives into his teamates rear quarterpanel to move him up. When the first shot doesn't work, he throttles up and plain wrecks Reed. This was a CLEAR a situation where you back off and give your teammate room.

It reminds me of how he raced Kez last year while Brad was running for a championship. Ran him all over the track and blocked the heck out of him every chance he got, and almost wrecked him a few times. I remember the race at Phoenix? where Brad had one of the fastest cars but got set back to 9th by a bad pit stop. Justin changed lans and blocked the heck out of him for 17 laps while he let Wallace and a few others go by.

I don't think Justin can handle being second fiddle, so he gets frustrated and does dumb things. Apparently Turner wasn't happy, because he called Justin to the hauler for a meeting and wouldn't comment afterward. This is the kind of thing that could get him taken out of the car.

Meanwhile, the organizations plans for a championship are probably over. Reed has overcome a lot this year, but he went from 15 pts out to 40 pts out with that one wreck. But Justin finally beat his teammate. I hope he's happy.

reed wasn't very happy with justin either. no way that was an accident. agree 40 points is probably too much for reed to overcome.

I don't think Justin wanted to wreck Reed, but the contact clearly was intentional. Reed seems like a mellow guy, but he was real angry after that. I think Reed has been caught up in Justins messes a couple times this year. The kid is driving desperate.

I think he is confusing brute force with actual driving talent.

and the consequences of hitting someone in the rear quarterpanel. i agree with fenderbender that he didn't want to wreck reed, just knock him out of the way. that's a pretty damn big oops, my bad.

There is so much wrong with what he did.

1) Going under the yellow line.
2) Making it 3 wide in a turn.
3) Bumping Reed.
4) Seeing Reed get loose, and chosing to bump him a second time.
5) Being so agressive to try and gain a top 10 finish.
6) All 5 get magnifyed when you do it to a championship contender.
7) Multiply the stupidity again because Reed is your teammate.

ZERO judgement used by Justin.

Justin's in-car camera revealed that he lifted out of the gas in an attempt to stay off of Reed but just had too hard of a run. Justin apologized on camera after the race. There clearly wasn't room for three wide.

I watched the recording 3 times. He hit Reed, then lifts a little, then quickly gets back on the gas and uses his car like a wedge to force Reed out of the way. No way anyone can sell me on the idea that the second contact was unavoidable.
