[Fans literally sit atop the Monster Mile race surface to watch all the racing
action: Jeff Gordon's sponsor, DuPont, is building the DuPont Monster Bridge
that will cross Dover International Speedway where, for the first time this
June, fans literally sit atop the "Monster Mile" race surface to watch all the
racing action. "Tyvek will keep rain and wind out and SentryGlas, which doesn't
shatter, is what will keep the fans safe up there. I've seen how these products
are made and tested to understand how they work, and it's really pretty
amazing." said Gordon.] speedway media.com

Now how great is this!!!!!!

Obvously, I see there is not a whole lot a seating in there, I wonder what "fans" will get thoes seats? After reading the specs of that, you better be one hell of a special "fan"to get in there. It would really be neat if it also had a glass bottom!!

The specs say 50 seats..........all the luxuries included!! :D Top dollar seats, I'm sure!! :)

I thought Dover allready had a bridge over the track?
It has a bridge but it's a pedistrian bridge only.

I was just talking to cutie yesterday at the Busch start of the race how much fun it would be to be right over the track to see those cars go by!! Now, all I have to do is hock everything I own and my dogs and I might get enough for a down payment on seats that would provide that view............in about 20 years when my time came up on the waiting list!! :D Wonder if I should reserve my round trip tickets on Amercian Airlines tomorrow?

Wow, can you say " sore neck"?

I hope it doesn't make those annoying blips on the in-car cameras like F1.

Yeah, if the seats don't swivel aren't you missing about half the race. It would be neat for a few laps to see the car coming right at you but I don't know that I'd want to sit there for the entire race.
Imagine the view you'd get if a car were to go airborne and you're a scant 29 feet above the track. :(

They could always change it. Have a time limit on how long you can sit and watch, maybe charge a few bucks for it, them move on. Now you can get fans, who can not afford to spend the money they will charge for those seats, a chance to get a pretty cool view of the track.
