Everything that's wrong with racing right here. If you don't have a heavy financial investment in the sport, we don't care what you think?

If you you don't have 30 wins and 5 championships, I don't care what you think. Get off my TV!!

Ok, it looks like this is what started it.

Earlier, Pockrass made a comment about Penske getting a charter from the dumpster after Homestead.

I get it but I still think it's off base. Without the fans, NASCAR teams aren't multi-million dollar enterprises. It's the investment from the fans in the stands, and the fans watching on Fox and NBC, that make it all possible in the end.

These NASCAR Charters are like the classic cars rusting away behind my aunts barn, they're only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. She watched one of the classic car auctions on tv and has an unrealistic value of what they are worth.

Agree with Mickey that only charter teams should compete. If NASCAR wants 40 car fields than sale 40 charters.

I disagree. If we want the sport to grow, this goes counter to it.

I'd rather see them go all in with franchising than fiddlefart around with Charters.

Michael commenting on the sport's business side after his team failed is tragic.

Mikey has gotten **** on like no other after MWR folded. Kauffman's nasty ass, especially. I will never forget that interview he had after the team said its closing. Just threw Mikey under the bus.

How exactly would franchising work? What would NASCAR charge for a franchise/team? Is that not similar to the charter system only its the teams that benifit from a charter instead of NASCAR?

I know a lot of questions but its a tough subject. I think more charters is the answer and 40 would be great. Now if others without a charter want to race NASCAR could go back to 43 car fields.

Sounds like a buffoon. I remember when Nascar was thriving about a decade ago and set the top 35 rule when 50 cars started showing up at all the races. A number of teams and sponsors left the sport because they couldn't get out of a hole.

There doesn't really seem to be much of a market for additional charters at the moment. There are provisions in the agreement to ensure that if charters 37-40 are ever opened up they'd be less valuable than the original 36 anyways.

Exactly. Mikey is really expressing the hardball reality of the " behind the scenes " of owning a NASCAR team.
Its a completely different world at the owners ranks and just because we are die hard race fans , that
does not make us experts in the field of ownership. Sure its fun to chip and chide at the comings and goings of
a race team of which we only know 10% of the real story, but they have all the skin ,and sleepless nites in the game.

If you haven't raced for 3 decades, haven't owned a team, haven't lived the sport from the inside, haven't used jet fuel, haven't tried to manipulate a race to get your cars into the chase, I don't care what you think. #BeVested

Funny how the tweet was initially completely misunderstood with Mikey hating we fans. Turns out, he was giving us his inside view of the sport. Not always a NASCAR 'Yes Man' I guess.

It still upsets me that NASCAR made an example of them.

Still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
