Xbox 360 or PS3

My ps2 died a feww months ago, so for Christmas i wanted an xbox 360, but due to money was unable to get one, but dad said after the 1st of the year i can pick whatever gaming system i want. Im not to big on the wii, so i was thinking about an xbox 360 or an ps3. What is the better system, grafix, games, ect.
 
The ps3 will also play BluRay movies on your TV. The xbox plays HD movies if you buy the add on. And overall I think BR wins out esp. if Universal switches to BluRay in 08 like they have said.
The Wii is probably better but it is in short supply and the games titles are scarce, for now. That will change and the price will come down.
I'd probably buy a ps3 or even pick up a used ps2 and save for the Wii. But, then I'm not a games so what do I know...

Hook a BluRay player up to one of the new Sony HDNA TVs and you'll think you are looking out the window. Add a decent sound system and it'll rival anything you find at the theater.
The HD DVD players are cheaper for a reason. But, again with the right equipment you'd need to be a videophile to appreciate the difference.
Blockbuster and Netflix carry both formats as well as the Standard DVD (SDVD).

I personaly don't like the wii. I tried to hook my brothers up and it took me forever to get that damn seasor postitioned right. Plus i dont really like the controls. It's just not my cup of tea....We never did get to play his because it was messed up and would not read a disk. But i have messed with a few of them before.

Looks like i may get an PS3....I know some PS3's will play the PS2 games, but some wont...what do i need to look for to make sure it will play the older games.

I've never liked the 12 button controllers. The Wii takes a common sense approach to gaming.

Overall, all the games are played the same with similar controls, whereas the PS2, every game used a different button to walk or move. Some games required you use the Up,Down,Left,Right while others required you to use the joystick and only the joystick.

The PS2 was just an overhyped piece of garbage. I had a Sega Dreamcast before the PS2, and I still say the Dreamcast was better. The only advantages to the PS2 was the DVD (and it didn't play most CDs or DVDs and wasn't a good DVD Player) and the game selection. I had three (one at a time of course) of the PS2s break down on me. The third one broke out of warranty so I just refused to replace it. The graphics weren't that great and the gameplay just sucked overall.

I'll only go Nintendo or XBOX. The X-BOX is a nice gaming system, as is the 360.

Someone announced they were only going to release movies in BluRay next year and eliminate the DVD format. The PS3 is BluRay, that's its only advantage.
 
I'v had my PS2 since 2002 or so, and never had any problems with it untill this year. I just dont like having to move around that much when i am playing a game. call me lazy, but i want to sit my fat ass down and eat cheatos as i play! :D

See Andy doesn't have that problem. He has Suzy Kolber feed him his cheetos as he plays his games... ;)
 
I am most likly going to get an ps3 this weekend.

Just not for sure what games i want to get. I'll probly only get 2 games. I want nascar 08 and an NCAA basketball game just not forsure if i should get EA Sports or Y2K (or whatever it is)
