Not watching xfinity races any more. Tired of watching big money teams come in and screw over the regulars. 5 or 6 of the top dozen yesterday were cup drivers, they pushed smaller, struggling teams further down the list to get finishing order payouts.
THey also take away the chance of a regular moving forward with a win in their chase. Screwem

I have not watched much since it was the BGN series as the influx of cuppers put an end to it for me.

He's driving for a well established team and daddy's footing the bill. What else would you expect him to say?
Go talk to the drivers/owners of single car teams that struggle to get sponsors and make the races.

So what?

Yes, it sucks for the smaller teams. I feel awful for guys like Ryan Preece, Ross Chastain, Sieg, Koch, and many many other talented drivers. Gaughan does matter because he's one of the older vets of the sport and has had success.

You're not going to learn anything or get better by running with mediocre drivers.

Funny

In every other sport, talent develops by playing in the minor leagues. You don't see Tom Brady taking snaps in college football, Dustin Pedroia playing in AAA or LeBron James playing college hoops.

Should listen to what Brendan Gaughan said during his interview. Starts at the 6:39 Mark, that's all needing to be said.

That's all good and fine, doesn't make the races any more exciting to watch though. I respect that the Xfin regulars wanna race the Cup guys, but it's usually more following than racing.

Just makes it more of a challenge, I don't like it anymore than anyone else here.

Its just something to live with, for now until NASCAR does something about it... Which I don't expect because sponsorship.

Three in the top five ‘n DiBenedetto finishin’ eleventh drivin’ for a guy who, as an owner, has one top five and nineteen top tens in eight hundred and twenty six starts

But "five or six" sounds better. Stay with it.

Dibenedetto has only gotten better as a driver, dude has some talent and considering that Tri-Star Motorsports outside of JJ Yeley really has nothing going for them. He did great yesterday and considering his pace in that 14 car when it is usually a start n' parker... Thats pretty dang good. He should be in a better car, I think he would really be a very good driver for a bigger team.

We still watch all the races in cup (via DVR), Exfinity has some good racing, lot of good young talent in the field learning as they go.

Now with that being said, I am absolutely not a Kyle Bush Fan never have been never will be and when he dominates like he does it get very boring to watch, I fast forwarded through over 2/3 of the race yesterday. But they did at least show the racing going on in the field quite a bit, not enough, but quite a bit.

I am a Kyle Larson fan, but, when he caused the 20 to wreck I wanted to, well you know. What a stupid no respect move on his part.

We can say all we want about pluses and minuses and in the end, money talks and bs walks, in Nascar racing.

During the Xfinity chase the win for automatic progress to the next round should go to the first Xfinity driver if a Cup regular wins the race.
I rarely watch Xfinity but that would make sense. :idunno:

I use to watch alot of it back in the BUSCH days. When it really was a seperate bunch of drivers for the most part. These days I rarely tune in. Daytona, Talladega, watched the last 10 laps of Darlington and watched the last 15 of Richmond only because Jr. Was running.
But for the most part it a bore fest these days. Way too many cup drivers running way too much. Should be limited to 5 starts a season. That I have no understanding what Kyle gets out of it. Seriously unless he's THAT obsessed with padding his numbers what does it prove. Be like a NFL quaternary playing a college game on Saturday "hey I threw for 400 yards and 5 tds"and everyone would day "who cares it was a college game"

While I agree with most said already, I take comfort most weekends when Kyle runs the X race and wins, and then doesnt win the Cup race.

I had this same thought not too long ago, and I 100% completely agree with you, it should also extend down to the Truck Series too , 2nd is the new 1sst place :D

Or, I like this idea, wins dont count either for Cup Series regulars running X-Series races:D

.
Same here.

Just watch the K&N Pro Series... Good racing on short tracks and road courses. The future cup stars are there. Guys like Chase Elliot, Daniel Suarez and Darrel Wallace Jr were racing and winning in that series a few years ago. That series is what the Xfinity series should be...

I'll watch the last 25 laps or so to see who wins. Now that the Chase format has been exported to Xfinity, I feel the balance of power is off kilter. It is not a true chase when the cup boys keep winning in a series where the Xfinity boys are supposed to be winning in order to determine a champion.

I used to watch a lot of the Busch racing on another channel . It was cool , and I really enjoyed getting to see my favorites like Earnhardt Sr . , Harry Gant and Mark Martin rough each other up on Saturday as a prelim to Sunday . The young guns would be full of excitement going head to head on Saturday with their heroes too . They said it was a great way to measure their progress They were proud to race their heroes , didn't seem to whine about it at all . Different times , different channel .

I like BG's attitude and am OK with him getting his ass kicked but I ain't watching it.

IDK what your definition of success is but Gaughan has 2 victories in 180 X races which is better than zero or one win but not by much.

Xfin is televised. Nobody is going to show up to watch a bunch of no-names crash into each other. Check the grandstands, the lack of spectators isn't because a few Cup guys are in the field. Check the stands at the Truck Series races, also.

Good points and I wonder what Gaughan would say if he had to watch one of them.

I have seen some pics and it sure isn't pretty.

I haven't watched a whole nxs race all year Kyle Busch winning 9 races and the year isn't even done. simply unacceptable. The cup guys need to be in the series however I don't see why them being limited to 10 or 15 nxs races would hurt anything

the stands are empty because the new is gone from nascar. They came they saw they left.

Did you stop watching Cup when Jimmie was winning all the time?

People always use that argument, the huge difference is that Jimmie Johnson was beating guys at his level of expertise and talent. Kyle Busch is basically winning in the minor league. I guess he has a fragile ego if he has a need to beat drivers in minor league.
