Xfinity Series 2025

Eh, not bad. There might be something about having a single channel to be able to watch Xfinity races. I sure don't think it has anything to do with outstanding pixels or booth work. This bunch sounds more like a social group instead of racing announcers.

Agreed it's not insignificant, but what's the point of the rule? What would you have to do to not get a waiver?
Be late arriving in Charlotte from Indianapolis despite every effort. That certainly reflects more poorly on the sport than hooking someone because you're having a snit fit.

This shouldn't be necessary but just in case, :sarcasm:

I didn't think either of them should have gotten a waiver. I don't think snowboarding injuries should get you a waiver as well. Injuries on track causing you to miss a race is the only reason I feel you should get a waiver for.

Wait a minute. If Stewart asks for and receives a waiver, he finishes 10th on the season even if he never starts a single playoff race?

Nah, there's nothing wrong with this championship system.

Drivers must start a race in order to be classified in a finishing position.

If you don’t start you were never in the race.

Not in the remaining individual races, but in the final season standings. If he's given a waiver and remains playoff eligible, what effect does that have on his final points position? Does he get the points reset at the start of the playoffs, pushing him uncatchable beyond the teams outside the playoffs?

Based on Pockrass's answer, apparently he would. It may not make much difference in money for the Truck series, but it would lock a Cup driver into 16th and other benefits of being a playoff driver.

He’d have to start the first playoff race.

Beyond that, why would NASCAR issue an ongoing waiver to someone unable to get off the golf cart on his own?

No he don't. You are living in a dream world. Nascar can and does anything they want. How many times have they changed the rules concerning this playoff nonsense?

I dunno. Why would it give a waiver for missing a race to someone who missed it only because of a suspension NASCAR itself imposed?

I'm avoiding asking 'Why' questions where NASCAR is concerned.
