Congrats to you both but how about that 'Sam and Red Racing'? 19 points in qualifying! That is some serious qualifying points. I think that we had a week earlier this season where two others did the same thing for the same weeks race. That is very rare in my experiences with this game.

Man that makes my 3 point look that much smaller. Damn.

:) Getting a Pole is pretty much The Highlight of my season, I've sucked this year.

Lot's of time left this season and anything can happen. Things have a way of turning itself around in this game, especially in the later third of the season when people have used up some of their drivers.

Yeah, you're screwed. ;)

Anyone who thinks Nascar isn't very competitive should be forced to participate in one of these pools. It is a very humbling experience . Picking six guys out of the top thirty and have none of them qualify in the top ten has got to be the ultimate kick in the face for any fan .

Anyone who picks 6 drivers out the top 30 and doesn't get one in the top 10 needs to be playing a different game. I suggest Canasta.

The only two in that group I'd expect to qualify in the top 10 are Stewart and Gordon.

Really, though, what does qualifying have to do with how competitive the racing is? Newman may very well be a 4 time champ if qualifying mattered that much.

I stopped picking 4 of my drivers based on qualifying history for that very reason. It left me with no real choices on Sunday.

I'm not saying Nascar isn't competitive but 2 different champs in 7 years speaks for itself. Some races are very competitive while others are dominated. If not for late-race cautions, I'm not sure what would happen to the ratings.

This is a race where scrappy guys like Harvick and Stewart should do real well at .

Very true. Late cautions have cost veterans a few wins. Tony and Gordon come to mind. Possibly Matt at Talladega, but he screwed up on that last restart. I think it's part of nascar's appeal that almost anything can happen, and almost anyone can win because some crazy sheet went down. This is why I feel that the championship, and points, have become too important. It makes for too much controlled racing. Nobody wants to see a destruction derby, but these guys should be willing to take more chances to get a win without first calculating points first.

That's true . They don't hand out wins to past champions . You can also bet that Kyle or Harvick or Smoke or Jeff Gordon would wreck somebody to get a win . Actually Jeff Gordon is likely going to have to wreck somebody twice , to get two wins to make the chase . As the chase gets closer and the only way to get in is to win races , your theory that they don't race to win could be tested.

The interesting aspect of that is Pre-Chase there where 7 different Champions in the previous 10 years.

Very true. Those WC spots will absolutely change the formula for a few drivers. It was real interesting how some guys could make the chase if another driver moved up from the WC spot. Believe it or not, I put foward an idea for a wins wildcard in another now defunct forum more than 3 years ago. Moejoe was part of Rowdy too. I felt a WC spot should only be available to a driver who was within 200 points (old system) of 10th place before he could bump someone out.

It may sound drastic, but I would like to see 2 championships hold the same stature in nascar. The wins champion and points champ would recieve the same awards, and a 'unified' champ would be something special. You could have a guy 25th in points going all out for the wins championship while racing the points leader. Hopefully, 2 worlds don't collide.

You had me at hello.

The only good news this week is that the Rangers won last night. They'll need to get off the boards and to the net more if they expect to beat the Devils.

Another stellar performance by Team SPIT!

185 big-ass points! I should have known better than to select Gordon as my A driver.

Picking Gordon was bad enough for me, but Chad Johnson ruined Truex, and Aric and Newman got caught up in Kurts spin. Another week of mostly good picks killed in the last laps.

I think everyone will have a good week at Charlotte. The All Star race should pretty much give you the top five cars . It would be more interesting if our picks were cut off before the All Star Race .

Alright, you've convinced me. We'll use your picks as a 'test group' for the 600. Lock your Coca-Cola 600 picks in before the All-Star race and we'll see how you do compared to the rest of us. :D

Week #11 in the books and 'UB3 Racing' remains atop the leader board with a score of 313 for the week. 'wilkesboro moonshiners' & 'Team IDKS' retain their spots but don't look now, '#17d500winner' is knocking on the door with a strong week scoring 332 points for the week.

Eight teams scored 300 or better this week. Two of the top 10 dropped out this week.

This weeks standouts.....

  • Best Player of the Week - 'RMS Racing' scored the most this week with a total of 349 points jumping +8 to move into the top 5. Great week.
  • Biggest Mover (in the right direction) - Once again, 'RMS Racing' grabs this honor as well with a +8.

A nice Mothers Day gift would be to have the top ten pick now . Sort of like a caution flag to bunch up the field.:D
