Race #14 of 36. Already half way through the regular season and heading to the freshly repaved track in Long Pond, PA. The weather is looking great for a change and it should be an exciting race with the new speeds being reached. Less than 100 points separate 10th place from 3rd and it's still easily anyone's season to win.

There'll be some tough picks this week! Question is do you go safe and steady, swing for the fences or hope strategy prevails :D
Good Luck everyone!

History is no indication of the outcome this week. It's a new slate with a new surface. I think these test secessions from yesterday and today are about the only thing to go off of.

Swinging for the fences...not always a good idea at Pocono

Shhhhhh, you were'nt supposed to say anything about that!

No matter the surface, the track still has unique characteristics which will favor some drivers more than others. I think that a driver with a good record here will still have an advantage over someone who has struggled here. Horsepower, torque, reliability and huevos largos will determine the winner.

I can't wait!

That's pretty damn fast! Who is shifting gears among the leaders?

The only one that I've even heard mention it was Steve Letarte#88. He said a couple days ago that they expected to be but I have not read any more comments since testing has begun.

I agree this weekend is a crapshoot . The last two weeks were hard not to pick Johnson but this week will be easy to bench him. I don't like the atmosphere up in the top ten , I 'd much rather be down with the common people anyway . This weekend should provide an excellent opportunity to get back down there . There will be some big changes if drivers like Juan Pablo and AJ lead the field .

That new pavements really picked up the speeds! The old pole record was 160 something.

Wow. I wonder how fast they are going before they begin to brake for turn 1.

Didn't they post top speeds earlier of 211? I'm guessing it's right around there. I think it's too late for nascar to slow them down, which means we could see a wreck and car go over the fence. I'm not sure these speeds in those boxes is a good thing for racing.

Yeah I saw on twitter that they were hitting 210 which isn't bad. They will hit 220 at MIS next week.

After a lil FACT checking the old record was 172 something so it's not as BIG a jump as I originaly thought.

Their still HAULIN ASS THOUGH!

Damn Kasey.... if he did'nt pull that ****head move, i'd have had a 325+ day..........for such a nice guy, he can be a real dickhead...

He was an idiot today. He was burning up that right front for 5 laps before it gave out.

Pretty much what JR did, passing those 8 cars towards the end there, then he just stalled.....

He didn't take tires, and his left sides were real old. They should have taken 2 when they abandoned their fuel strategy.

Well, they might just take that car to Indy......looks promising...what coulda, mighta been...LOL

Jr thought he finally caught a break, then the caution came out. He looked crushed after the race, and caught himself before ripping nascar for the extra long yellow for that sippy straw they found on long pond.

Yeah, I could also tell that what he was talking about, wasn't what he was thinking. If he had stayed out, he would have made it. He may have won, and probably would have finished better than he did. This is a time when he and Letarte sit down Monday morning, and exorcise those demons, and move on.

The more important question is, are the Penske cars worth picking this weekend at Michigan? Still got Brad and the dinger at 8, and 9 picks left.

Wow , I got my wish . I am back down where I belong with my peeps . From 8th to 34th in one race . It was really nice to have been in the top ten just once .Something to tell the grandkids about .

Don't confuse the segment points with the season points. Segments mean nothing. You still dropped 6 spots but you are in 14th overall.
