Cup RACE thread --- Darlington

Big win for Larson. He needed to finish one off like this.
I think he is the championship favorite again.

It’ll be down to him and Byron. Byron is more methodical but Larson is the most talented driver in the series. (Not the greatest, what he has in talent, he often lacks in race craft.)

So frustrating how Reddick’s stupidity screwed his biggest challenger at the time.

Like I said earlier in the week, Larson is dangerous with this format. He had a lot of bad luck, some self-inflicted stupidity, but a ton of speed much of the year. He’ll be a major factor.

It really is amazing how horrible the commentary is on these races. A 15 year old YouTuber could call the run to the checkers better.

Ill take this!

Probably the most lucky win of his career.

Hamlin was untouchable AND wasn't gonna make a mistake.

Harvick has his deal.

But with the speed the 5 car has had all year, which I've been saying, they're long overdue for another 5 playoff points.

Larson was error free for 30 laps when he needed to be. Good execution, and some luck.

5 more points!

This might be a controversial take but I think Larson would be a better Cup driver if he actually cared as much about stock cars as he does about dirt.

5 car has had loads of speed all season. I'm here too.

If Hamlin doesn't wreck him twice, and Ross doesn't wreck him at Darlington and Dover, this is probably his 5th or 6th win, and he finishes a solid 2nd in the points standings.

In this format? One race take all? Championship 4/championship favorite speed has been there all year.

A bit of luck and execution and they're the favorite. For sure.

All Rick Allen does is talk and talk. It ****** terrible.

Still worried about next round, those 3 arnt exactly in his wheelhouse. I just hope he has a cushion heading into the Roval and it’s not a must win

Agreed. He is the most talented driver in history, but his heart is in dirt. How many times has he said, after winning a dirt race, that it’s bigger than Daytona or bigger than a championship?

Larson only knows how to drive balls to the wall, which has cost him dozens upon dozens of wins.

Today’s NASCAR rewards that more than the previous generations of NASCAR. This car can be walled repeatedly with not even a dent, which rewards Larson and Reddick more than anyone else.

I really liked Allen when he was calling Trucks on SPEED. He has gotten worse since going to NBC.
I don't understand it.

It's embarrassing. I always say this, but my wife, who is an extremely casual fan who hardly knows the drivers knows who he is.

It just seems like he doesn't take **** seriously. Or too seriously lol

Because Rick Allen sucked the air out of the room

Imo, He’s the worst announcer in the sports history. He just can’t help himself to let the last lap breath

I wouldn't call kissing the wall with the right rear "plowing" it into the wall. Should they have a rule you cannot touch the wall?
I mean, the guy who rode the wall at Darlington last year and stuffs his car in the wall repeatedly by riding right next to it led the charge to have the Hail Melon banner.

That's what my worry was, and why I've been so frustrated. I don't care about the wins as much as I do having a buffer for Talladega.

This gets them that.

It's an interesting take.

Because I think the gen 4 and COT, particularly the COT fits him like it fit Jimmie Johnson.

If I have to pull for Larson to save us from a JGR, especially Dennis championship, then I’m willing to swallow that bitter pill and do it.

Oh yeah. I completely agree.

He's the worst thing to ever happen to the image of this sport. God awful.

Something about espn on 2007-10 I guess that was worse. I wouldn’t know I’m a Johnny Come Lately fan

If Tyler Reddick wins this race I’m moving away from the state of SC and renouncing both my high school and college diplomas as they both came from this state. I cannot support a state that houses a track illegitimate enough for Reddick to win on…. So hopefully he doesn’t win!
The credibility of your high school and college merits remain intact.

Any plans to send Kyle Larson a Christmas present?

I wouldn't be upset about a Hamlin championship to be honest...

I know this is a shame worthy take, and Hamlin is a clown ****head. But 50+ wins, Daytona 500s? He's had a hell of a career and a championship probably catapults him into the top 15-20 all time. And that's greatness. And as people know, I enjoy greatness.

But he's still a **** head, who's failures are still extremely fun.
