Nascar 14 - Video Game

For those of you who play NASCAR games. I just found this article that got me pretty excited about the next one...

Because of the glitches and lack of talent in the online races I only play in a league now. The new game will have leagues in game, so instead of running it ourselves it will be formatted in game. Which is HUUUGE for me.

Also the AI is said to be more aggressive in that they will not just move out of your way and will retaliate if bumped.

I cant' wait.. Hopefully it's as good as I'm hoping. I know there will be issues at first... there always is, but this will be the third game by this company... maybe they learned something.
 
.. oh and they will not be making the game for X Box One or PS4... they say there "isn't enough hardware out there to justify the cost of development."
 
.. online lobby's will be formed based on skill level. Nice.. no more getting dumped with a 12 year old that cant drive... that would suck to be part of one of those groups lol

LOL its not on either the PS4 or Xbox 1 because the game was made using last generation hardware.

This game will be on for PS3 and the 360.
 
I like the advanced game room idea, I really hope the stepped up their career mode. If they have a bitchin career mode, I'll buy.

Because Controllers aren't really meant for fine motor control like a steering wheel/pedal sets are. So they have to sacrifice a little bit of realism so you can drive the car with an XBox/Playstation controller.

You can hook a steering wheel and pedals and all that stuff to your PS3 or PS4.

Those have USB ports and support wheels. Gran Turismo 5 and 6 both feature that.
 
Buy it and try it out for me so I know whether or not to drop $50 on a Eutechnyx product again.
 
I really want to get into iRacing but it seems like a hell of an investment.. People drop a lot of coin on those rigs. I would literally have to start from the ground up, don't even have a PC for it..

I checked their site a few days ago and it's half price right now. Seems like it was an odd number like 89.50 or.... yep just looked again, 89.50 for 2 years. Not bad. I might do that myself.

As far as the rigs go though...

That is a great price for the subscription..

If I had money I would love to try iRacing.
 
It really doesn't require a powerhouse computer according to the spec page. At least we wouldn't need a 2000 dollar box to play it. I think all of us here should join this year and race for the racing forums championship.
 
All I really want is a competitive AI. last two games I was able to pass half the field in 2 laps on any track with all assists off.

is it me or are the majority of NASCAR game players here Gordon fans...?

I know many people who still love to play NASCAR Racing Season 2003, it was the last NASCAR game by Papyrus. Now Papyrus knew how to make a NASCAR game. Luckily for us though, most of the former Papyrus employees are working for iRacing.com. :D
 
Well I wont be able to help but buy it so I'll let you all know how it is...

I was looking into iracing a couple weeks ago but I don't think my computer can handle it and I know those guys are serious.. plus I've read it's a bad idea to use a controller for that and I would need to fork out another whatever it is for that... I already have my ps3 and controller and they work fine for me.. I'll hope the next game isn't so terrible..

Also for those of you who do still play NTG: Inside Line or will be buying this game and want to race... feel free to add me on psn... my screen name is .. you guessed it.. SlicedBread_22 :D

Do you have to pay extra for each additional car and track? I thought the initial membership comes with a handful of cars and maybe 10 tracks.

I was about to say this. I don't race, because I mainly console game and I don't like racing console games. However I have been keeping up with this one and from what I read and seen many are not even going to buy this one. They said that it looks just like the last game, which was total sh#t. That it is built on top of the last engine, which was total sh#t.

I am an avid Playstation fan boy. Got my PS1 through PS4, plus my PSP and Vita. What are you playing right now?

With the way Console gaming has gotten better this generation I really hope some of these online gaming sites develop for the consoles. Especially the PS4. I don't see why the PS4 couldn't run iracing. As a matter of fact it might make things easier. Also streaming races would be awesome with the PS4's share features.

I think part of that issue is the one time purchase of buying the game. I'm thinking iRacing just wants to be its own thing and continue to make people pay for it to renew their services. If you buy the game on console its a one time buy .. sure they can charge u for tracks and extra cars but you could play forever without having to pay more.

you can do that with consoles now. There are many online MMOs that are developing for the consoles now. I don't see why iRacing couldn't do the same and still keep it subscription based.

True, I know I would buy it. Does iRacing have anything to do with Apple? Like iPods n stuff? If so maybe that's why they don't want to share lol They would have to sell rights to Microsoft..

Console gaming has jumped leaps and bounds now. There is definitely opportunity there for iracing now. So many features that iracing could use on the PS4 from the sharing/streaming feature, to second sceen, awesome hardware....man I could cream my pants now just thing about it. How awesome would it be on a Saturday night to turn on the PS4 and launch the Live from Playstation app and then choose a live iracing stream to watch at your pleasure.

Do you know if iRacing is related to Apple? Or did they just use the "i"? Because like I said if that's the case you'll never see it on Xbox.
 
I have heard something about live races from them... like a broadcast online and a league of players that run a schedule and you can tune in and watch the season.. is this true?

No I don't think they are at all, however I don't have facts to back me up. Either way if iracing wanted to move to the consoles I don't think apple or microsoft would be a thing. However they could also just strike a deal with Sony and only develop for the PS4.
