Considering Danica Patrick caused an accident in one of her first Nationwide races and went on a disgusting tirade against noted geriatric Morgan Shepherd, blaming him for mistake, I am going to go out on a limb and say the bolded part isnt true.

Thought about making a new thread on this but it would have just gotten put here. Anyway, so in defense of Danica, Tony Stewart says that she should challenge the King to a race and see what happens. Now Tony has made some bone headed comments in the past, but this one is the stupidest he's ever released from his face. Even as an old man just prior to retirement, Petty was twice the driver she is, how could Tony say such garbage...
 
it would be something if Petty took them up on it. Trot out one of his old superbirds. He would lap her.

Stewart has always been better at the wheel than at the mic. Nascar's biggest Diva.

Ive followed danica since her irl days. She has talent. I do wish she would have spent a full yr or two in nationwide before going cup.
 
In Danika's defense there is none! I'm not a fan nor a hater. If you think anything different other then she has a nascar ride because of her looks your delusional. Again, I'm not not a hater. She just does not have the talent needed but now days that is not the only thing that matters. NASCAR are publicity whores just like any other major sporting entity. If Danika looked like a Ukrainian pig farmers wife the only ride she could get would be a enterprise renta car. I know the truth hurts sometimes but it is what it is. Hopefully it won't take her to kill someone on the track to get nascar to wake up a realize that safety should trump press.

She was a disaster in IRL also. Her fear from open wheel is in large part why she is such a horrible cup driver.
 
If a driver of Hornish Jr's open wheel calibre can't make a dent in the cup series, I just can't believe that Patrick can either.

I'm not trying to bait anyone. I'm just stating a fact. Does anyone really think Danika got he ride based on her outstanding driving career? There are two things required in top tier racing. Talent and money. It used to be you needed both. Now days if you lack one but are strong in the other you can compete at a mediocre level. Now I'll ask you which does Danika have? I'm not saying she is not a talented race car driver. I'm saying she is not talented enough to be to be a top tier racing driver and with that in mind she competes because of money. Now ask your self this. If she looked like a Ukrainian pig farmers wife would she have the money following? The answer is obvious. No.

Another example of money on the flip side is Richard petty. Is he talented? Absolutely. Would have he won 7 champion ships in modern nascar rules? Highly unlikely. I'm not suggesting he only won those because of money but it played a very large part in his success along with fact that rules back then meant you needed both money and talent to compete.
 
Maybe the Ukraine would sponsor her as a national treasure in your example. Would godaddy sponsor her? prob not. Every sponsor has an image they want to portray. But she can wheel a car. Every rook has to take their lumps, and she has taken more than her fair share. But do not say she would not get a ride if she looked different. You dont know. No one does.

Tony has a huge sprint car background. He has also driven Indy but my point of Danika's fear was not to say she shakes in her boots per say but rather she has the typical hesitation that comes from Indy car drivers in a bump and grind driving scenario. Danika's resume is open wheel with minimal notable success other then go carts which was a direct result of wealthy parents and a ballsy little girl. Very few open wheel drivers transition to nascar because of the bump and grind. Montoya did poorly. Where is he now? Open wheel drivers do well in nascar on road courses. Why do you think that is? I not saying Danika is not talented. I'm saying she does not have the talent for nascar.

Disagree. How many drivers have won the pole at daytona? some drivers never win it. You seem like you dont WANT to admit shes got talent....its like she scares you or something. She was competive in irl leading the 500.

UInlike montoya Danica will stick with cup. She will win.

Your delusional. I'm sorry. Danika has a ride only because of sponsor money. You are correct in stating go daddy's position. They don't care whether she wins or is competitive but nascar should in my opinion.. Why does Danika never have telometer coverage like everyone else? Because it shows how often the driver uses the brakes.

I'm not a Danika hater. I do think she has talent however the simple facts are just that, simple! Danika has a cup ride because of sponsor money. Danika would not have go daddy money if she looked liked a pig farmers wife. Even you can admit that. If you seriously think go daddy sponsors her because of her driving prowess your probably on watch for the Easter bunny coming soon and probably dosed off and missed Santa Claus,s fly by.

Godaddy has sponsored her for her image as well as driving...if she was wrecking people very week driving last they would not want her. She has talent. Led the 500 indy car and pole at daytona.

I think its a combination. But all drivers have a persona you know. Tony was nascars bad boy there for awhile, gordon the golden boy who could do no wrong (jimmie has since assumed that mantle) etc

Danica has hers. But no less or more than anyone else.
