On Going - Songs You Like

Pretty weird video, but the meaning is straight forward. As young ones, we expect to live the American dream, but growing up...we realize that's not going to happen.

yeah this thread is something. Most of what the younger listeners come up with reminds me of a song, so I post em up. We're all here to learn.

You guys know, from this thread, that I like Postmodern Jukebox. They announced their first west coast dates.
I bought 4 tickets at a relatively small venue where you have dinner at a table before the show. I also got VIP meet & greet with the band that includes the pre-show sound check.
I'll be accompanied by 3 female friends
It will be an awesome concert.

I hope you didn't steal Fenders new girlfriend, she doesn't look like a light eater.

We basically have three music threads going, so I wasn't sure where to post these. I like all three of these songs and their corresponding albums. This is the type of stuff I'm listening to now.

The first one is a chill sounding trance song. The second is more of a theatrical song with some light electronic elements. The last one is incredibly bizarre and demented sounding and you won't like it. It's sludge metal mixed with ambient electronic. The official video depicts a guy cutting his forehead open with a razor and then drilling into it. LOL. I figured I'd spare you and just give you the audio. :)

I've been stuck on Babymetal and this for the last couple of days. I love the light orchestral effects in here. These guys kind of remind me of Hybrid, one of my all-time favorite musical groups.

That last song is going to give me nightmares... Seriously though, it'd a great song to use for a haunted house! I'm into Rock, Hard Rock and some heavy metal, but that last song is just too much for me.

A lot of people thought they'd go downhill after Adam left, but the only difference is the voice of the lead single. The sound of the music is still great!

This is definitely one of my favorite bands, and it's odd because there're a Christian band, but their songs are all so positive! This one's about seeing all those negative things that are happening in your life and simply looking the opposite way and walking away from them.

This is such an underrated album. The group is called Kona Triangle and if you're a instrumental junkie like me, you'll love this. Its the combination of Lone and Keaver and Brause. Its very boom bappish, very lush and quite a tropical feel to it. Its been out for some time now since 2009 and it was probably what made me get into instrumentals. Give Lone a listen, in the past seven years the man has put out nothing but quality music.

From Acid House to Detroit to Hip/Hop based and about everything in between. I personally love it, but people say I'm crazy because I listen to music without lyrics... Its actually quite cool to have pictures painted without a word being said here is the music. Give it a listen, you might like or you might hate it.

Eh, I'm not a fan, but it's not because there aren't any lyrics. Just doesn't have the kind of sound I like. THIS, however does!

Not gonna lie, I was in love with Avril Lavigne around this time! I'm a Rock guy, but there's something about her music that I enjoy.

I like some of her music, but she is possibly the sexiest woman in music in my mind. Her looks, her voice, she's the whole package. Beth Hart has a sexy voice and can really sing, but she doesn't look anywhere near as hot as Avril. Beth Hart's music is much more my type, but Avril is about the only thing that can make me listen to her type of music.

She is dang near perfect! She looked better ten years ago as the skater girl, but her smile still remains absolutely adorable!

Recorded in 1981. These guys were friends of mine from Chicago. Recorded 2 albums with fairly good success around the Midwest

Same band...Lead singer (Frankie J.) wrote this song around the same timeframe. An unfortunate accident happened to him a few years later, when he was working his regular job and fell down an elevator shaft and died...Godspeed

Here's that awesome Rock song you've heard several times on the new android commercial. An old co-worker actually introduced me to this guy several years back, though I've really only ever liked two of his songs.

I've got bruises on my memory
I've got tear stains on my hands
and in the mirror there's a vision
of what used to be a man

I've seen Dwight many times in the past few years. I always have a great time. I saw this post and decided to check his website for tour dates. It said he's gonna be a Staples Center (which I don't care for) so I clicked on it and I saw that it's with Eric Church. I have no desire to see or hear Eric Church, so I guess I'll wait for another show. :)

I've never seen Dwight in concert, but I've liked his music since the 80's. I about wore out Buenos Noches From A Lonely Room on vinyl back in the day. That was an awesome album.

The newest video from this adorable, talented violinist. One of those songs with no words, but the sound and creative video definitely make up for it.

Not exactly a group I listen to much, but my daughter likes them a lot. I really do like this song though. Especially the line "if what we had was real, how could you be fine?". That's pretty good stuff.

Amnesia
by 5 Seconds Of Summer

Being born in the 90s', I grew up listening to a lot of rap and R&B. This man is a modern day legend and I would say this ushered in a new era of what is now known as "Neo-Soul" a new age of musicians who were not only great singers and lyricists, but what made their music standout is the production with a modern twist. Meaning the instrumentals were a lot more noticeable with its heavy basslines, strings, and other assortments of instruments used on keyboards, drum pads, etc.

D'Angelo did most the production himself, lyrics, and just about everything. Just an absolute masterpiece this album is and to think that its aged so well to come out 19 years ago. Just fantastic music that has stood the test of time. His career is taking back off after his run in with drug abuse and being a alcoholic. To think where he would be now, if those things did not occur. I would say D'Angelo would be a greater legend than what he already is.

I apologize for some of the language in advance, its the full album.

A lot of people dislike Nickelback. I'm a fan of the heavier stuff, but I can't deny the fact that Nickelback does make a few decent songs. This is their new single.

I'd never heard that before. It's pretty good. I like several of their songs. I know a lot of people hate them for some reason, but I don't get why myself.
