Off to Atlanta where the speeds are high. Same layout as last week.

For DJ fans again we have a track where history has been good. Having dodged a whole six shooter full of bullets at Martinsville.........................

Jr fans can see that he runs well here, much better than Kevin and a little better than Matt. He might catch Kevin, he won't catch Matt. Harvick's fans can only hope his luck will change here.

Ryan may gain on them all.

Of active drivers, Bobby Labonte paces the field with 6 career wins at Atlanta, followed closely by Bill Elliott with 5. No other active driver has more than 3 and there are two drivers at that number. One is no surprise being Jeff Gordon. I do think the other will surprise you................Morgan Shepherd.

Seems that once again I find myself at odds with Jayski and his race info page.

Should be a simple exercise in statistics.

Active drivers with the most wins: jayski lists Bobby and Bill tied at 5.

I say Bobby Labonte has 6...........The fall races in 1996, 1997, 1999 and 2001. The spring races in 1998 and 2003. To me that totals six.

Jayski also lists Dale Earnhardt as the all time leader in wins with 8.

Dale is the all time leader but with 9 wins,,,,,,,,1980, 1984, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1995, 1996, and 2000. Nine victories.

Worried too much about TV appearances I reckon.

No doubt, Earnhardt Jr. has been racking up top 5s and top 10s the past few Atlanta races. He dominated the late 2001 race until I guess he caught something in his eye, one hell of an excuse. Earnhardt Jr finished 2nd afterwards in the 2002 March? race I think. It's time for him to visit victory lane.
