The intensity of the 2016 Fantasy NASCAR season is at an all-time high and it will only rise from here. Due to various circumstances, our normal procedures have been a little off the last few weeks. Barring any unforeseen issues, we will be back to our usual routine from here on out to the end of the season.

The Question of the Week: Who do you think gets into our Fantasy Chase in each series? What Chase battle do you think is the one to watch?

@The Long Shot (#1) is about to be declared in the Cup Series if he misses the Cup race this weekend.

Only four races remain until the Chase for the Sprint Cup begins at Chicagoland Speedway. Of course, several players are resting easy in this race to the Chase with multiple wins. Petr Smetana (#43) won two of the first four races of the season but hasn't won since. But surely he hasn't been bothered by that since he is all but locked into the Chase with those 2 wins, and his average finish of 15.5 makes it hard to believe he could fall below the Top-30 in points (he currently sits 100 points above 31st).

David (#97) and @DanicaFreak (#7) also have 2 wins apiece. David won at Richmond and at Daytona in July. However, he's only had one other Top-10 finish this year, and that was a runner-up finish at Talladega. @DanicaFreak, however, was once one of the top performers as the Daytona 500 Champion and another win at Fontana. Now @DanicaFreak sits 29th in points, 26 points ahead of 31st.

Jakub Smetana (#42) is the overall point leader. Yet he has not won a race. He sits locked in the Chase after winning back-to-back Dash4Champs bonuses at Daytona and Indianapolis. He leads all Cup players with an average finish of 13.68 (2nd has 15.5), 12 Top-10's (2nd has 9), and 18 Top-20's (2nd has 16). The only races he finished outside of the Top-20's? Daytona, Talladega, Dover, and New Hampshire. Without a doubt, he will be one of the biggest threats for the Sprint Cup Championship.

Smokegirl14 (#14) has been comfortably above the Chase line just about all season. And with a win just a couple weeks ago at Pocono, she was able to solidify herself for a Chase run as one of the top veterans to keep an eye on. Mile501 (#21) and Kitkat8 (#8) were jumping in and out of the Chase periodically throughout the year. But then they both won at Indianapolis and Loudon, respectively. Now they don't have to worry about that Chase line so much.

MJM (#84), along with Smokegirl14, leads the league in Top-5 finishes (6). His win at Sonoma was able to propel him into the Chase. Numbah10hatah (#38) got himself in with a win at Michigan after barely missing out on the Chase in 2015. Meanwhile, Joey2448 (#6), who made the 2015 Chase without winning a race, got his win at the halfway point of the season at Kentucky.

Showtime (#44) was able to lock himself in through the Dash4Champs bonus by winning the first 2 chances at Richmond and Sonoma. Currently, the only other Racing-Forums player sitting in the Chase besides DanicaFreak is @Conner (#98) who won at the June Pocono race. He's only had 3 finishes outside of the Top-20 since. Slicedbread96 (#96) is yet another veteran who comes in with a win at Kansas. However, her average finish of 22.63 is the worst among the current Chase contenders.

Nascarnana (#60) for quite some time was sitting outside the Top-30 in points after her win at Dover. In the last few weeks, she never gave up and she now has a 23 point cushion to stay in the Top-30. If you've been keeping track, that puts 12 of the 19 total winners in the Chase so far, plus 2 Dash4Champs winners, and that leaves only two spots for players that have yet to win a race. Jolly Mean Giant (#67) has been considered one of the most consistent players of the game, and now he has a 20 point lead over defending champion Kevin20fan (#20) in 17th. But just one new winner could wipe that lead over 17th away and bump @24over48 (#24) out of the Chase. Only Smokegirl14 and the two Smetana's have more top-20 finishes than @24over48, but the points game and lack of wins haven't exactly played in @24over48's favor lately.

Kevin20fan sits just 14 points away from @24over48. We all know he's one of the strongest players but the competition being so tight in 2016 has made Kevin20fan take a bit of a backseat in this championship hunt so far. But surely he will be a severe threat for the title should he make the Chase. Rookie Rayday15 has made his way back up to 18th in points just 19 points shy of a Chase berth. He is one of just 4 players running on 3 consecutive Top-20 finishes. Victree8 (#16) and Braindead Zombie (#88) close out the Top-20 in the Chase Grid. Victree8 has been one of the top stories of the season. After the first 5 races, he sat 43rd in points. Since then, he's had 11 Top-20 finishes, 8 Top-10's, and 2 Top-5's and that put him 27 points outside of the Chase in 19th. Braindead Zombie was on his way to a possible Chase spot but a 2-race suspension put him out of contention for a while. He's since built him back up into the Top-20 and back in the Chase conversation.

I forget can we wait until Quals are over to make our picks?

DanicaFreak, I'm pretty sure this was well after the green flag of the race. I can't allow this prediction.

Thank you, @TexasRaceLady, I'm away and unable to check at the moment. I always double check times before I start recording the results.
