After finaly getting out of the parking lot and onto Speedway Blvd. I thought I smelled something.....grass stuck to headers? Nope Altenator going up in Smoke!

My sincerest apologies to all that I inconvenienced this afternoon.
Except for the Busch fan who flipped me off while I was trying to get out of everyones way.......is there a FINGER SMILEY on here?

I disconnected the feild wire connector and + batt cable feed switch ove to the secondary battery and limped to the shop. Where I found more Carnage.
It's hard to see inthe pic but the starter solenoid end cap, stud and cables are burnt up.

Apparently sitting stuck in the parking lot caused enough heat buildup from the headers to melt down the cables or starter solenoid shorting out the batt to alt cable.
First time Baby's let me down

Yep a lil over 600 RWHP worth
I was super concerned about the engine overheating while stuck in there but the cooling system held up fine never went over 210. Maybe I can get the guys to make me up an engine harness with the hi silica heat sleeve on it.
