Ok, I get being disappointed about the rain but at 3:30 , it would have affected this race, regardless of the start time. As a side note, I passed on the three hour drive for the Xfinity race yesterday primarily because of the later start time. Guess I need to keep mentioning this on the Fan Council.

yeah I think blaming it on Florida's slimness when you have the Waltrip vortex theory to compare it too, I got to go with the Vortex theory

If the Indy 500 can start around 12:30 ET the Daytona can at least do 1:30. I don't get this late afternoon start stuff given the weather in Florida. With the limited mid-February daylight there's just not a lot of time to get the track dried quickly. Plus, dragging this into the night always means going up against the NBA All-Star game. Given the Kobe impact that's not something NASCAR wants to play with.....

Not yet, but he's always welcome to come birding with me. I had a Bald Eagle to start my list this morning.

They’d still be stopped now but probably with close to 100 laps finished and after this small shower they could finish the race before the big rains come around 6:00 pm.

At this rate now we will only have a 125 lap race before it’s rain shortened.
