Jeff Gluck has been reading the board

Hahaha! I don't know Jeff, but know enough to know he's a good person.

Hopefully this brings good attention to this forum. It's a really great & passionate community. Obviously I had no idea that my vague "someone might retire, not saying who, no idea when, it might not even happen" tidbit for all you guys to digest would blowup like it did, but you can't help but laugh. Made the off season more fun, right? There should be something like this every December.

As long as this doesnt bring heat to you.

The heck with this forum. I wish something would bring good attention to this sport. I suspect the predicted announcements will bring attention, but I don't think it will be positive or long-lasting.

Nah, it shouldn't. I knew no one was going to guess it. Literally, very few if any would have assumed Carl. I thought it would be a fun discussion topic here to speculate. Plus I knew that in the long run (assuming my source knew his/her stuff) this time stamp would help squash all the black helicopter theorists who assume something massive happened out of the blue (like health, or he's being pushed out, etc). None of that's the case. It's been well thought out. He's leaving on great terms. It's what he wants and he has Coach's blessing. It's actually an inspiring story all around...

I wish more industry folks, especially drivers, engaged with fans more on the "behind the scenes" stuff. I get that there are things that need to be a secret. I don't post 99% of the stuff I hear. But there's nothing wrong with pulling back the curtain every so often and letting fans be a part of the conversation. You guys have great ideas here. And, some terrible ones - but at least those are funny.

Did I disclose what name he posts under? No. And I don't intend to. And I made that decision all by myself without any advice thank you very much.

You mean he has another name he posts under besides Jeff Gluck?

Make sure those guys don't get in The Podium
Lol, we don't need them in there.
I missed that original post made by allenbaba. I agree though, I hope nothing comes back on you @Allenbaba.

You're a great poster here and a friend. :)
And my memories of @Allenbaba are when he help you out @lisa with some Kurt Busch stuff. :) I'm not active here often, but I do remember that.

Could you either hear/start a rumor about a certain head of a certain auto racing sanctioning body that is resigning as I would like it to come true.

I'm not nearly as immersed as you are, but that's why I can't stand it when someone will post some inside tidbit and some others get pissy and start demanding sources and stuff. They don't get that there are rumors flying around *constantly*. Literally the stuff on NASCAR.com and even Jayski is such a miniscule part of things, but they think the news that they get is 100℅ of everything that's going on. It's not even close and most fans are completely in the dark. But I really enjoy when you or anybody else unveils a bit of extra intel with us. It's fun and exciting.

Very sweet of you Lisa. I'm just nervous my friend at JGR stops telling me things hahahaha...

Again, no reason for concern. I never said who and I never said it was definite, only that I heard a rumor and I thought it would be a fun exercise for us to speculate. Like Cheesepuffs said, if we posted every rumor we hear, we'd be chasing around nonsense 24/7. As far as I knew, the Carl thing wasn't even true either.

Well said. I enjoy what Allen and others bring to the table as I find it insightful and the way the info is given is done in a low key manner as opposed to haughty and arrogant like some people would.

I know you are wise enough not to put yourself or your sources in danger and I want to thank you again for all you bring to the table at this forum.

@Allenbaba Great stuff though!!! Thanks for the info...my intuition told me it was Carl...things made sense that it would be him.

Industry insiders such as PR reps, reporters and even team members have lurked around and even posted on here quite a bit. I've actually hired people to write for me direct from this forum before. This is usually a great place for discussion and, fortunately, @TexasRaceLady does a good job of keeping things civilized enough that this place doesn't turn into a dumpster fire.

It's hard for secrets to be kept in racing and there are more rumors going around than high school.

Yes, he sure did. Those things, shirts, hats, pictures, etc were taken out of my house yesterday. All were wrapped up in in sacks but still smell like smoke from the kitchen fire. I could care less, they are not being thrown out.

You can never get rid of your merchandise of your favorite drivers lol. I don't have enough Dale Jr. stuff to say that but still, I wouldn't be able to get rid of these ever. Now to try to make it to a NASCAR race this year or next year for the first time ever to try Jr. to sign these and meet him. All the items stink to high heaven but they still mean so much to me. :)
