Anyone out there own a F250 Super Duty Diesel? Looking to see if you're satisfied with that choice in tow vehicle.

Looked at both Dodge and GM trucks but the price tag on those trucks is outrageous. I really like my GMC but its time is coming to a close. The Pennsylvania salt mine roads are taking their toll.
Just pulling your chain but I do love the Ram trucks. The feel they have and the ease of handling on the road especially pulling an RV is what I really like. The other stuff is all just perks to me.

I've been keeping up with the big truck diesels since I retired. The DEF system has been the biggest problem on every brand FWIW.

Well, the deal is done. Picking up the new truck on Saturday. My wife and I just celebrated our 25th anniversary two days ago. I recognition of that we purchased a Silver 2017 F250 Super Duty Diesel. Having the 5er frame rail system installed the middle of next week. I'll be installing the Reese Signature Series 18K hitch adapter myself along with some airbags for ride leveling. Got a big trip planed for next month and not a lot of time to prepare.

I have heard more good on the CHEVY/GMC and less good on the Ford. I don't know to many folks with the Dodges, so, can not say.
I just traded in my GMC Sierra 2500HD. It was a great truck but the environment was not kind to it. I wanted to get rid of it while it still held a good value. And that it did.

Great choice bud. Good luck with it.

Damn fine looking truck. What size wheels are those 20"?

And only 3 days away from being delivered!

I love the color of your truck too as it is forgiving with swirl marks and dirt and and just looks good. Had your 2008 developed any rusting around rocker panels, wheel wells or tailgate? The reason I ask is I see that in my area as we use salt like it is going out of style.

I never had a reason to get a crew cab but I love my ext cab and I will never go back to a regular cab.

This is our 3rd time that we purchased a silver truck for that reason.

Rust was rampant on the frame. Nothing that was a big issue there though.....yet. Mainly, the bottom of the doors themselves and the area around the taillights. I had a 100,000 mile warranty on the engine/drivetrain. I had just under 107,000 on it and decided it was time. We've had numerous thing worked on with that vehicle out of pocket and that was getting expensive. It was time.

My son bought a 2017 F-250, early this year. It has the same style cab as the silver one in photos. He has 12,000 miles on it since purchase and really likes it. He gets decent fuel mileage, around 20 for his running around, and It is well appointed with plenty of power and surprisingly great pickup speed for a diesel. He took my Bride and I for a ride and it rides a little stiff but other than that, he's sold on it as he has had it long enough to find something to grumble about. So far all is good.
Best of luck with your new truck. If my son's experience is any indicator, you will be very pleased with it. :)

Only thing I've heard of is engine/DEF issues with ford diesels. Thankfulyl not near as catastrophic as the first gen 6.7 clusterFk

That 6.7 diesel chased my brother away from Ford.We used to pick at him about his tow truck adventures. The only thing worse than making payments is making payments and still breaking down.

I was working at a ford dealer at the time, for an SVT team contract. I was watching 6.7's getting pulled daily. They had more trucks than they could get create engines shipped in.

One thing all new trucks, and cars too, is rain gutters regardless of brand. Go around a corner with the window down a bit and the rain rolls off the roof right inside landing on the electrical switches for the power mirrors, windows, locks.

It's a vast window deflector manufactures conspiracy I tell ya!
And bring back vent windows too ya jackwagons...

Stand back, I'm on a roll.
While I quit smoking 1,023 days ago or if you prefer, 33 months,146 weeks, 24,552 hours,1,473,120 minutes, 88,387,200 seconds ago but who's counting?
I no longer have a need for a lighter or ash tray but I see that on some cars they are no longer offered.

Anyhow, some new toys just arrived today. Air bags, hitch adapter and 7 pin wiring harness adapter came today. Tonneau cover arrived yesterday. Husky liners coming tomorrow. And..... The fifth wheel rail system is being installed Friday.

They aren't alone in the DEF government crap. I have heard that they work pretty good if you don't idle a lot. At least on the big truck diesels, but it makes sense on the others. The Def system re-burns the soot and diesels make the most at idle.
