F1: Germany Race thread

Lewis has been gifted three wins this year.

This is insane.

Is that hyperbole or do you really believe that?

Hamilton has 4 wins so are you saying he's only had 1 legit win?

Still bummed Seb shot himself in the foot yesterday. However I am stoked about a Vettel/Ferrari vs Hamilton/Mercedes title fight for the duration of the season. Racing needs this IMO, may the best man win.

Yesterday was a lot like Singapore 17. Ferrari had an insurmountable advantage and Hamilton on the ropes. Not only did they throw the race away, but Hamilton scored maximum points with an unlikely win. After that Ferrari went into self destruct mode, but hope we don't see a repeat of that.

Once again, Hamilton is most dangerous when you count him out.

Well two in Germany and Baku. Two legit wins.

Is backing into a win the same as being gifted one?

Baku I will 100% agree that was a gimme. The last race he at least had to work for it. More like lucked into it. Had he pitted, either Bottas or Kimi would have won but gambled, stayed out and held on. Ultimately with help from his teammate.

Meh, overall Mercedes are obviously the #2 team this year and if Ferrari doesn't win it all, well..

Vettel was sitting in 2nd behind Bottas when he tried that overambitious move in Turn 1 with three to go which dropped him back to 4th. All on his own.
After Red Bulls wrecked each other and brought out a safety car. Bottas hadn't pitted yet and Vettel had dominated the whole thing and was poised to win.

Don't know if he would've won China (I think he dropped behind Bottas after a stop) but the timing of the SC did him zero favors there too.

who ever get to the finish line first is the winner, deal with it.racing is not would of or could have.
