I still don't understand why Mercedes chose to pit Bottas on lap 14. His tires were fine and he had an easy 2nd place finish before that.

Dont act like Kimi wouldn't do it. He would.

This culture of the second driver being the sacrificial lamb needs to stop. It's just bad for the sport.

So now you're saying Bottas purposefully tried to take out Vettel and Ricciardo in the same race? Nice goalpost moving. And you're also wrong.

I never said Kimi would crash someone on purpose. I meant he would, has and will play Vettel's "wingmen" when needed.

It's up to the driver to adjust to those things, not to use them as any excuse for ramming another car in the sidepod.

Can I then say Vettel purposefully spun out and ruined Bottas race a few weeks ago? Ditto that for when Kimi spun out Lewis at Silverstone?

When you say Bottas did x on purpose I just have to laugh. He’s one of the cleanest drivers out there.

Let me rephrase things a little. With only half a wing plate inside of Vettel's tire, Botas was not entitled to squat. He was beaten and the position was lost.

Botas was in such an untenable position that there was no way he was going to keep the position, so while he may not have intended to have a collision, it's fair to say he also didn't care if he wrecked Vettel's race. All he had to do was give six inches and the whole mess would have been avoided. Sometimes you just gotta know how to lose.

Botas had lost the position and it was time for any fair person to give it up. He just decided not to play fair and we all saw what happened.
