Which do you think will have more success without the other in 2019? Who wins first?

Chad is more likely to do better in the long run because JJ is probably going to retire within a few years.. but can Jimmie go and outperform Byron without Chad in 2019?

Chad's job doesn't really have a physical basis for it unlike Jimmie who is undebatably "over the hill" and will start seeing performance decline.

I dunno about Byron, gonna have to be a show me deal.

For sure.. he may go on to zero wins and get fired.. just saying the likelyhood of Chad getting more wins without Jimmie are high because Byron has much longer to try.

Sounds like Hendrick is throwing everything behind Byron, but why not Elliot ?

I don't even think Chad is going to be with him for long. Maybe a couple years to help him get up to speed and then I see him retiring to television.

William will need to grow a pair to have sucess.

With the "drafting package" rules we have for 2019, I'm giving the nod to JJ's vast experience over the kid. If 2018 rules were going to remain in place, I'd go with William as I haven't liked much of what I've seen from Jimmie for three years under the low downforce rules.

Here's how I'll measure to see if my gut-feel guess is correct... No chase or playoff, but a highly progressive point system. Points for this head-to-head comparison start at 10th place and go up from there:

1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 10.

YES. If he has good communications with the CC.
Chad can only give Byron good cars, the rest he has to learn himself.

I hope Chad doesn't become another Zippy/Joey deal.

It's nice and all that Willy B. has a Homestead Bowl win under his belt. But he has to earn respect in the garage as a driver.

I think very green in the series 3 years Byron has the personality similar to 7 time. If he gets a decent car under him, I think he will do well. I think like the other rookies recently Jones, Elliott, Larson and Blaney, I would rather compare his length of time to win a race with that group. That being said, I think the new package is going to help Johnson and I will call it even closer to that saying Johnson's best chance to win will come early before the Ford teams gets the new Mustang sorted out.
