toughest trucks ever built

Agree with Johali and SDJ. you can't beat a 5 ton. Just don't go near soft land...those things WEIGH. A. TON.

(duece and a half are 6 lug axles, 5'ers are 10 lug)

International CXT :D

I hardly count a 5 or 6 series truck with a F-350 series bed on it. I don't know what they were thinking, but it's rather hideous.

Not that the GM 6500/7500 pickups are any better... at least their 3500 pickup bed actually fits.

There’s some crazy trucks out there.
$$$$$

A list of 15 top trucks without an International seems invalid to me. In 1976 4WD magazine tested a dozen trucks. The IH Scout matched or bested every test they did. (I remember this because my dad showed me the magazine - he was an IH dealer so I'm biased).

a good example of that it's possible to spend a ton of money and make something that looks stupid.

@kyle18fan might have something to say on this....

That's why I drive one, not a Scout but a 1200 pickup

LOL at the Blazer :lol2: that long ass IHC walks on those poor things something terrible. The Blazer won't twist, the IHC keeps the wheels on the ground and twists like a wet noodle. Combine that with ultra low gearing, Spicer powerlock axles and you have a winner

Got a big winch on the front?

No, I have never needed a winch except for one high center episode that stuck me for a few hours ...... all 4 wheels off the ground. I pull trucks out that have winches quite often, there aren't many trees in some parts of our desert . My IHC only goes about 4 mph in low lock, if a wheel is on the ground it digs

how did you get the truck out with all 4 wheels off the ground?

JEEPERs.......2 hours in the desert digging sand

Not a lot of sand here except for in the wash bottoms, we were digging hard assed dirt. I got about 200 feet of barbed wire wrapped in my rear drive shaft one time, had nothing but a pair of pliers to remove it, took me about 5 hours.
