Ganassi shutting down Xfinity Series program

This is just a bad deal for all involved, especially Ross. I hate to say this, but you would think that CGR has to take a little bit of the blame here as well. You would think that after the Natures Bakery deal that teams would do a fairly in depth check into a sponsors financials to ensure that they're capable of holding up their end. I don't know enough about DC Solar, but the amount of money they've been pumping into NASCAR the last couple years seems excessive for an alternative energy company.

Hopefully Ross comes up with something and Larson isn't hit too hard by this.

He still has a ride with Premium Motorsports in the 15 on the Cup side.

He got ****** over and John-Hunter Nemechek is low-key the winner in this issue considering he moved to GMS. Chastain was a favorite for the Xfinity championship this year in the 42.
Thats enough to make you throw up your hands and head back to the Watermelon farm.

eh they won't have to look too hard for Ross's emoji this year

Too soon man, too soon.

I have a feeling he's going to show his talent on the Cup side. He's been the best thing for Premium, lets hope he can keep finishing in the top 25 in that 15 car and make some noise with this new aero package.

well Bold Predictions is already over.... someone predicted that DC Solar was leaving the sport if I remember correctly. Sorry to hear that for Ross, he had a good opportunity snatched away from him through no fault of his own.

Damn. Chastain standing up to Harvick this year and making the playoffs with that underfunded team made me a big fan of his and I was so excited for him to potentially be Larson's teammate in cup at Ganassi in 2020 after Kurt's possibly final year. This sucks. I can't imagine how he feels.

Well Chip, get off the hip and fund the team! (Note) I'm good at spending other peoples money.

yeah it only takes 6 million plus. why that is back pocket money. :D I would think he is having to absorb the loss on the cup side unless he can come up with funding to offset that loss.
.

Did they say how many races DC was gonna do in Cup for them?

And... Renewable energy has never done anything good for anyone.
To be honest, I was really looking forward to seeing Chastain run for a championship in the 42. He could end up in the 77 in Cup now.

Ganassi and Rousch now out of Xfinity. I wouldn't mind if Penske and JGR also dropped.
JGR is down to 2 cars and Penske is only running 1. It looks like without cup drivers, the sponsors are not biting. (YET) So is it time for a couple of new teams or maybe someone moving from Trucks to Xfinity??

I believe Penske is running two. SHR is adding another last time I heard. Both running one full timer and the all star car that can't run with a full time cupper driving in the playoffs or if they run the 4 race dash for cash this year.

This is great news, right? Big teams shown the door, and they are leaving. Names are made here, right? What's the fuss?

****, this is a shocker! I guess if you listen to the BS around here no series is better than a series with Cup guys. NASCAR---Stay off of social media.

LOL. The primary debate vis-a-vis the Xfinity series has always been about drivers double-dipping, not teams.

The money follows the driver, the driver is part of a team.

not always. and in this case DC Solar was sponsoring both cup and Xfinity drivers in the Ganassi/Nascar side of things. The drama for those who thrive on it was when the IRS raided DC solar. Ganassi had no control over that, or Nascar or lady Sonia and her crystal ball. Anybody paying attention to Roush racing has been seeing a dumpster fire for about 8 or 9 years, ending with the 60 Xfinity car looping 29 times in a season whith whoever they put behind the wheel.

Xfinity shrinks. LOL. Gonna want those Cuppers again soon. Cars are really slow when they sit in a garage....in the OSS machine.

Cup field shrank even with KyBu. KyBu is not the answer to shrinkage in any of the series.

IMO in today’s sponsor climate teams may skip some due diligence in favor of expediency and just plain hope it works out.

I don’t think it is fair to place all the blame for situations like this on NASCAR’s flagging fortunes. However I do think that NASCAR’s less than stellar performance exacerbates these types of problems.

sh!t, this is a shocker! I guess if you listen to the BS around here no series is better than a series with Cup guys. NASCAR---Stay off of social media.

IMO Nascar allowed the situation with cuppers in the secondary series to get out of hand. They tried to put the brakes on things by restricting driver participation but by that point the horse was out of the barn.

Eh, NASCAR has never defined the Xfinity series as a development series. Cup guys running on Saturdays give the fans a chance to see the best in the business at at least half the price of a Cup event, and gave those who watched the entire weekend to see extra laps from the best. Babbling "fans" got caught up in the romantic notion that the next great thing was getting choked out, and decided to babble enough for NASCAR to take the Cup guys out. Now, the Cup guys are essentially out, sponsorship is continuing to dry up, and what will you be left with? Ever been to a Minor League stadium when the guys from the big show put on an exhibition with the AAA guys? They pack the house. In NASCAR, we get pissed when the Major Leagues battle the Minor League guys. We will regret this someday....probably sooner than we expected. It is dumb as hell, and embarrassing.

Perhaps the KyBu fans should amuse themselves with Racing Wives until Daytona...

Oh, but the sun rises and the sun sets in Kryals, eh, ya know the rest :D So much fake drama, what was embarrassing was watching the 60 car last year. RIP. Ganassi was caught dead to rights and took a huge hit. Probably should be admiring the fact that both cup teams will continue with Ganassi next year while he regroups, instead of pet peeves and drama. At least he hasn't been blown out of the water like Barney did.

When I watched the BGN series cup drivers participated but they never tried to run each event or win a championship. I am not saying this is good or bad but just pointing out the difference.

IMO the X and Truck series are only for the diehards that love any type of racing any time of the day. Attendance, interest and enthusiasm for either series is low and even cup with all it has to offer is getting pummeled.

I think you could load up X with cuppers and you would not move the needle in terms of interest as the diehards will watch regardless and the casuals are not interested.

thought this was a topic of Ganassi shutting down the Xfinity team, not the daily dog and pony show.
