See any good movies lately?

Just watched an older Adam Sandler movie that I didn't even know existed until I came across it while browsing Netflix. It's called Reign Over Me and it's hard to describe my feelings towards it. It wasn't bad, but it was also kind of weird and kind of boring. I think it just proves that the drama genre isn't meant for Adam Sandler.
I thought that was a great movie and performance by Sandler.

Just finished The Belko experiment. I enjoy a good amount of horror and thriller movies, but this one didn't cut it for me. There was way too much carnage and gore for no reason. I hate movies that aim for fans of gore because they usually lack a decent plot.

I can't remember the last watchable Sandler movie. Waterboy maybe? They've become so horribly bad that I completely avoid them.

This was waaaaay to gory for me. Gross.

Saw The Happytime Murders today. It was funny, but the best parts are the ones that were shown in the trailers.

Molly's Game was excellent. I had no idea it was about Molly Bloom going into it. Back in the day, I rooted for Molly and her brother when they were skiing bumps and actually saw them at a comp at Squaw Valley. Finding out what she did after her skiing career ended was fascinating to me.

On My Skin or Sulla Mi Pelle

****** hell. Brutal movie on the real life account of Stefano Gucchi and his death at the hands of Italian military police.

Made me cry like a baby. It's on Netflix.

Watched Hell Fest yesterday. Like some of the reviews said, it's a decent film for slasher genre fans, but it definitely wont get anyone to become a fan of the genre. I actually felt weird watching it as I was literally the only person in the theater who was watching the film.

Just watched a movie called "Triangle." It's a time loop movie and had my small brain completely blown and confused. It was actually a decent movie that I dont recall ever getting much attention.

Went and watched Halloween on Wednesday. While a fan of slasher and horror films, I just never got into the Halloween franchise, whether it be because they started before I was born or because it never seems to end. However, I enjoyed the movie aside from the ending. There was just something about hearing that theme song in theaters though that gave me the chills.

The 50th anniversary of Night of the living Dead. Restored in 4K on the IMAX screen. Great documentary to lead it off, then the masterpiece itself.

In the spirit of Halloween, I decided to watch Strangers 2. And...it sucked. Horrible acting and horrible production. I really didnt like a single thing about it.

I watched the new Halloween and finally got around to Hereditary. Halloween was a fun slasher flick. Hereditary was extremely creepy and twisted.

I've heard good things about Aquaman. Might go to the island and see it this weekend.

Christmas Chronicles on Netflix - that's an instant family classic right there.

Just saw Wonder Woman. Really really good movie, best movie I've seen since The Dark Knight.

And Gal Gadot  is hot as fire.

Just saw this post of yours, @AndyMarquisLive , this is one time I 100% agree with you. The seen where she fights down the machine guns is epic.I have watched this movie a few times, I have it stored on my DVR. :D

Vice was very interesting to see. I appreciated Dick Cheney, but I really appreciated him and his honesty about his time in office with George W. Bush. I didn't see him as power hungry, but it was obvious that Bush needed someone with that needed experience to get things done.

Solid movie, but Christian Bale was absolutely phenomenal. The acting and soundtrack made up for some of the faults in the movie. I found it pretty funny as well.

I have been a movie buff for many years. Heck when I use to be out on the road during Christmas I would find a theater and go in for the first showing around 9.00 am watch 6 or 7 movies and not come out until after the last showing ended around midnight. But it is hard for me to find a movie anymore that I can sit all the way through. I watched instant family a few weeks ago and then went back and watched it again yesterday. I may go watch Holmes & Watson today.

After I typed my earlier post Good Day LA had one of the so called expert movie critics on that said Holmes & Watson was voted the worst film of 2018. Now I know I want to see it because they usually don't have a clue what I like.:)

Terminator Genisys

Good flick. Panned by the critics but I like it. I love the Terminator movies so I may be biased.

Watched “A Star Is Born” last night. Not exactly a feel good movie, but a very good movie nonetheless. Even though playing a pop star wasn’t much of a stretch for her, Lady Gaga was great in her first major movie acting role. Andrew Dice Clay was also surprisingly good as her father in the movie.

I agree. We don't normally watch too many movies but we recently downloaded/installed the Terrarium TV APK on a few of our FireSticks. Over the weekend, to check out the new app, we watched 'A Star is Born', 'First Man', Bohemian Rhapsody', 'A Quiet Place' and 'Bird Box'.

A Star is Born - We actually really liked this movie. Thought the acting was great in this familiar story. Very surprised that we felt it was as good as it was. Not a real big GaGa fan but both her and Bradly Cooper were very believable.

First Man - I was interested in watching this movie because of the events taking place in my childhood. It was an interesting watch but it made me think of that older movie, 'The Right Stuff'. I didn't enjoy this movie as much as I thought I wood. 'The Right Stuff', that one I'll be looking to watch again.

Bohemian Rhapsody - Loved revisiting the music but I don't think I was as impressed with this movie as the critics seemed to have been. Good movie, not great. Did make me head to YouTube to re-watch the Live Aid performance. Now, that was awesome.

A Quiet Place - I really liked this movie. I like suspense movies though. I didn't know anything about it going in. Very interesting concept/story. I was a big fan of US's 'The Office' so seeing Jim in something else is always good. Too bad they couldn't get Pam to play his wife, rather than his actual wife.

Bird Box - I liked this one as well. Didn't know anything about this one. Saw that someone else had posted earlier that they didn't like it. I thought it was a pretty interesting story. Would have liked to have seen the monster or would I?

Got a bunch more lined up to watch soon.

Wife and I enjoyed the Ruth Bader Ginsberg biography "On The Basis of Sex".
May be a little more easier to follow if you glance at her wiki before going. Last week we
took a quick trip to Denver to visit a daughter and her husband and while touring
downtown we saw the courthouse of the big scene and took pictures of us on the top steps.

A nice surprise I caught on one of our cable movie channels - "Molly's Game".
Love a good true story movie from time to time. Impossible not to look up
Molly Bloom on youtube after seeing this movie.

I agree with Toy Yoda on "A Star Is Born". I was just so disappointed with the main
male characters behavior and outcome that I felt let down at the end of the movie.
All acting was good though.

Kick-Ass 2 was on tv so I watched is expecting to change the channel after 15 minutes. To my surprise, it kept me entertained throughout the whole movie. It's several years old, but I never thought to watch it as I'm not really into superhero movies. Gotta be honest, I expected it to be more of a comedy and less of a thriller. Not complaining as I do love thrillers, just a bit surprised.
