I do not have a link, but R-F announced it is shutting down all Xfinity teams to focus on Cup. Unknown are Ty Majeski's and Ryan Reed's plans. Right now they said they are stepping away for a year. Lily had left the 16 Xfinity team at the end of 2018 season so the 16 was un-sponsored.

It does make sense, but sad to see.

"Roach-Fenpark is closing down Xfinity Racing" pass it on...

I am happy they are focusing on MECS as maybe my BOLD pick will actually have a chance. I bet Ricky is going 'About time!' and Ryan is saying 'Yeah Boy!'

Between this and the #42 going away, I assume we'll finally start seeing all those other teams that couldn't make the race because ride-buyers affiliated with Cup teams were hogging the qualifying spaces.

I think I posted elsewhere that if you can't field a competitive Cup program, there's no point in running a driver development team.

the # 60 Roush car was a valuable resource in teaching the young drivers what it would be like to drive a really bad race car. But the up side was many of us weather it was a drinking game or side bets made some good money predicting when the 60 was going to go around. And by golly the 60 almost never let us down. I have a feeling Ryan Newman is going to be the new radio sweetheart on Radioactive this year.

I didn't think this was new news. I thought I read that several weeks ago. I remember Mark Martin commenting about it on Twitter.

CGR and R-F getting out of exfinity is not a good thing. JMHO

As much as I don't like cup teams fielding xfinity cars I have a feeling the field will continue to shrink. Who will be next? RCR, SHR, Gibbs, Penske?

Depends on which manufacturer thinks they have enough fresh blood in the pipeline.

Remind me, did Custer score a full-time Cup ride? I could see the #00 going away if / when he leaves X; Penske does a better job of fielding Fords in X.

Jr. and Gibbs are about the only Cup teams fielding competitive X teams for their manufacturers. Jr. fields a more competitive fleet than RCR in my opinion, and Grandpa doesn't have his kids to nurse through the ranks any more.

Or not.

Penske will run the 22 with Cindric as a full time Xfinity driver and Joey, Brad, and Ryan will just be cup unless its another Xfinity car. Stewart Hass will field the 00 with Custer and the 98 with Briscoe

Forgot about Penske? and SHR took the owners championship title in Xfinity. Chevrolet claimed manufacturers’ championships in both the NASCAR Xfinity(JRM) and Camping World Truck series.(GMS)

It's not good that the RFR program is shut down entirely, especially considering their history in the series, but it plays out well for Briscoe and Cindric. As far as I can tell Ford still likes Majeski too but a RFR junker isn't the best piece to shine in. Ford have realized it's better to funnel talent through SHR and Penske.

RFR Xfinity is not in the same league as JRM, but they still had competitive moments. Not that long ago Ricky Stenhouse won the Championship. Yes the shine appears to be off their apple, but they have or had the potential. Better this way though I think
